How many Virginians do we have here?

I know there is at least 2 of us, since I randomly ran into one today at Chick-fil-A. Pretty neat to see the /k/ logo IRL
>>

Nova here. Anyone else see all the shit recently about the gun stores being broken into and all the pistols being stolen? Last I saw 3 guys had been arrested and charged for it.
>>
>>33402561

Yeah I heard about that. Like 36 guns were stolen from 50 West Armory next to F3 Tactical, and even a few gunstores in Maryland got hit.

Didn't know they made an arrest tho, so that's good

>>
>>33402598

Shit that sucks. They fuck with FFLs hard here in NOVA. I was in 703, moved down to Hoodbridge (dont know if new area code) from Arlington. There was a dude in my neighborhood, former SF, running a FFL out of his house in Shirlington completely legally. I was curious about the Google Maps location and one day called in, he had moved to Alexandria. Turns out the soccer moms saw people leaving his place with guns and called the ATF, who stung him to try a straw purchase. He pulled his gun on the dude and held him down at gunpoint, refusing to check his Fed ID until the locals came, kek.

Now he does a good business on General Drive in Alexandria, called Specdive Tactical. The prices are high but so is the quality, plus full smith shop with all the goodies in back. Not much else around in the close to DC area except Sharpshooters, which is full of dickhead fudds.

It was funny because I had just pulled in the drive through and saw the "grab SKS" sticker on the car I front of me and thought "wow that looks like something from /k/" then I noticed right above the NRA sticker (it's almost hard to see in the photo from the lighting) is a black /k/ sticker. I laughed. I yelled REMOVE KEBAB out my window at him, but I don't know if he heard me. But when we left the drive through I was next to him at a stoplight and we very briefly talked about /k/
>>
weird I went to a Chick-fil-A too.
I was behind some faggot taking pictures of the car in front of him. weirded me out because I thought the guy was stalking him or something. I only thought this because he was in a very dirty car with heavily tinted windows with a bumper sticker that said "if she can bleed she can breed". he started screaming out the window like a lunatic, thought about calling the cops. while I was getting my food I seen the him parked next to the car in front of him. I figured a shootout was about to start so I bailed out of there as fast as I could.

Applying to be a cop with DC Metropolitian Police. You can live anywhere provided to roll call on time. Any Alexandriafags tell me about it? I know it's pricey but I don't want to live in DC and Alexandria seemed nice and low key but close to work.

I live near the outskirts of Old town. You do indeed pay for location, and everything is expensive but if you don't mind living in an apt or townhouse it's not too bad and you can walk to plenty of places.
I pretty much stopped going out to drink in DC after they cut late night metro service and raised fares again.

Are you the retard that ND'd at the gun counter a year ago? Or are you just too autistic to get one of the gun counter guys attention? They are always busy as fuck but if I just say "Is X or Y working here today?" I'll get help in like 5 minutes. Learn basic social skills bud.

If I want to shoot at 25 yards I'll pay less and go to Dominion. Or my own property. Or friends property.

More oriented as a range than a gunstore but still FFLs and a few guns. Actually bothered to get a membership there.
As opposed to CSA that jews you at every turn, has staff that acts like their job is a chore, there's always a wait, and you can't even bring your own .223.

Is that anything like the mercury SP&G that's little more than a dingy little gang hangout that won't allow more than 1 shot every 5 seconds with 2 lights in the whole place and a stick up its a ass?
>>
>>33412001
Yeah I've been up there twice and was really impressed by the staff, the lanes are clean and range modern and organized. About to drop a membership packet because it's pretty damn convenient to be able to go up there and work on my pistol shooting or zero in a rifle.

The ROs were good dudes and the front end staff extremely friendly. Type of people I'd like to support.

Don't have anything incredibly negative to say about CSA aside from their inflated prices, ending of bringing your own rifle ammo and they do have a handful of staff with the usual gun range/store employee chip on their shoulders. I chalk a lot of that up to having to deal with normies all day, day in and day out. Most of them end up being pretty good people once they get to know you.

It's possible I just got the bad apples the few times I went, but it's not worth me driving 30 more minutes and dealing with Richmond to go there for a hit or miss experience.
The only thing BRA doesn't have is any full auto rental. Especially since with membership you only have to pay for ammo to rent. if they had just one id be set.

>>33412085
I'm closer to CSA but will be dropping a packet at BRA instead. Haven't been up there on a weekend yet, but the crowds seem much smaller and the staff really sold me more than anything. Good people all around.

The rental situation is the only downside of BRA at this point. I can understand not wanting people to beat up their guns with ammo that might be too hot or out of spec. The lack of full auto stuff doesn't really bother me though. I also see BRA continuing to grow up there, they have a lot of room to grow into on the FFL/rental/store side.

Talking about BRA's new facility in Richmond famalam. Not a ton of options for public ranges around here, really limited to CSA, BRA or ghetto Dominion. I stopped going to Dominion well before CSA even opened up though, complete lack of ROs, making you buy their overpriced ammo and getting flagged twice by ghetto motherfuckers in there with no RO on the range sealed that deal.

There's some decent private membership shooting clubs, but the best one has a multi-year wait list at this point.

Luckily I have friends with private land to get real fun shooting done.

The mercury one isn't THAT bad. My commute goes from VA Beach to Newport News, and sometimes I'll go there if I just want to shoot pistol after a shitty day. The staff are a bit gruff at first, but they also deal with tards and bangers all day. Once they recognized me they were a lot more friendly.

My biggest gripe is the frangible long gun ammo rule. I get why, but it's juts not worth the money. That's why I'll only handgun there.

The VB shop Is a lot better however. It's pure gunstore, not a pawnshop with a range.

Because every customer that comes in thinks they know everything already as well because they read it on the internet.

Most customers come in and ask for answers to opinion questions, and then get mad when the employee has a different opinion.

Most customers also think that because they see something for 500$ online, they are entitled to walk in the store and get it for $450, and not pay transfer fees.

Stores need to make a profit to keep the business running. In many cases, they may not be able to get a product for cheaper than you can online, and you're paying for the privilege of picking it up instantly, no wait, no shipping, and being able to handle it in person beforehand. If you don't like it, buy the thing online.

>>33413811
Stripped lowers are not part of their core business of complete firearms. You're asking them to provide you something that they don't actually carry and expect to get it at a discount? That's not how things work.

>>33414083
I get that brick and mortar joints gotta make a profit, and I have no problem with that especially since that mark up is essentially a convenience tax. I have a problem with shitty employees who fuck off on their phones leaning against the counter when you talk to them or don't bother making eye contact because whatever they're doing is way more important than making a sale. Or when you ask for a gun in a specific caliber and the fudds behind the counter tells you that's a shit round and you want a fowty-fave.

And the "learnt everything from online" meme is quickly becoming just that, a meme. The quality of information you can get online is incredible, maybe back in the late 90's what you read online was dodgy. It's getting to the point where sales staff in any retail setting are wholly unknowledgeable about what they peddle. Just look at the LGS story threads

>>33415044
Charlottesville is severely hampered by its greedy, retarded city government. Bums everywhere downtown and the city screwed over VA by squandering the money they were supposed to use to expand city roads leading to US 29, creating a huge traffic bottleneck in the city.

>>33415213
That's generally true, there were a fair number of shitlibs at UVA but unlike a lot of elite liberal arts colleges you didn't have much trouble finding people right of center nor were you heavily ostracized for voicing right wing opinions.

But on to /k/ matters. I'm a recent transplant to NoVA with cash to spend on expanding my gun collection, where are some good places to search for as regarding buying firearms and ranges? I've been to Peacemaker NTC for competitions before, it was pretty nice. A hasguns friend in NoVA swears by Clark Brothers but someone here said it was overpriced. You'd be on a whole other level anon.

Not designing guns, that shit's for interns. You'd be working on Systems. Like, Hellfire and Patriot missile systems and their integration into a larger network.

I've had okay luck with Quantico Tactical in Woodbridge but they cater heavily to LEO/mil customers. They'll do FFL transfers for $15 though. Also like 50 West Armory in Chantilly. Some of the kids who work there are fucking morons but the guy with the ginger beard knows his shit and will always get my business.

Other than that, the new Cabela's seems like a decent place to check for used guns, and Green Top down near Richmond is generally worth the drive.

Apparently you missed the part where they're having a stripped lower sale. So it was literally for store inventory. Please try harder though maybe you'll understand some day.
