Hey /k/ first time visiting this board but my grandfather has gifted me with all of his guns and I really no fucking nothing about them they are all dusty but some of them look old as fuck and like they could be worth something ask me questions guys I'm happy to give anyone a closer look.
>>
>>33393550
they're probably pretty dirty OP
best way to clean them from the years of inattention is to give them a vinegar bath, it dissolves all the carbon that's stuck in them from all the shooting.
>>
>>33393570
I mean I assume op isn't real. But if you are, don't do this. Read heavily online about how to care for firearms especially in storage.

Also individual pics of each gun from the side will help a lot.

And don't you dare sell a single one of those heirlooms ever. They cost you nothing and mean something to your grandfather. Honor that and keep them.
>>
>>33393941
don't listen to this noguns OP. if you let those firearms sit any longer they could start forming rust in the barrels, if they haven't already of course. you don't want your grandpa's guns withering away do you? vinegar is cheap. go fill your bathtub.
>>
>>33393550
Break the gun and vomit on it?
>>
>>33393550

Does it break open over the trigger? Should have a lever.

Single shot shotgun. Should have the gauge and chamber size listed on the barrel.

Neat piece op. If you want to shoot this bad boy I'd start with 3 inch shells. It's gonna be an animal.

Not very valuable though. Single shot h&rs are a diamond dozen. 10ga are a lil rare though

there's better ways of cleaning guns that soaking them in vinegar dumbass

Don't listen to these people telling you to use vinegar. Acidic cleaners are very dangerous and will cause severe erosion of the barrel. It is also a bad idea to use a neutral solvent, because most ammunition uses corrosive primers that form erosive acids when they are activated by the cleaning solution.

The best way to clean your guns is to use a mild solution of drain cleaner -- dilute it in a ratio of between 1:5 and 1:10 with distilled water.

OP do not listen to any of these suggestions. Except the no selling part, that's smart.

>>

he wouldn't get much for them anyway
They are mostly all mass produced fudd guns
>>
>>33394326
Remington "Jam Gun." Known for being finicky, but once you figure out what it likes to eat, it'll reliably put all 5 into a moving Target at moderate distances. Nice.

What caliber?

I know i'm probably feeding the trolls and OP is probably a troll, but if you're not, OP, please do not fucking clean the guns with vinegar or drain cleaner or whatever the fuck they're telling you to do. that will absolutely fucking ruin them.

Get a gun cleaning kit, with Hoppes No 9 gun solvent and some gun oil. You clean the wood with just oil and a rag. You clean the metal parts with a Hoppes no9. Make sure to get the chamber and barrel (you use fabric patches and a ramrod which should be in your cleaning kit, shotgun barrels will generally have big brass brushes too) because this is where the majority of gunk collects from the propellant burning. Then oil the whole thing. Inside and out. It never hurts a gun to be literally dripping with oil.

oh, and if you dont know the basics of gun safety, learn that shit. Learn what calibers they are, learn how to load and unload them. Ask your grandpappy if you dont know. Also, don't sell them. I regret selling every gun i ever sold. Those are really cool guns from an older era and I'd hold on to those for when you have grandkids (and believe me, if you take proper care of them and keep them well oiled and maintained, they'll last hundreds of years).
>>
>>33394494
Very cool rifle! Not sure about the value but that's an awesome gun, even though it has wood furniture you can put a bigger magazine in it and then it'll function just like a military battle rifle like an AR-10, FNFAL, or G3 (although semiautomatic and probably only 10 rounds instead of 20, of course)

you can check gunbroker for prices if you find similar guns, but really you should keep them. That's a cool gun and i'm sure your grandpa would want you to keep them.

>>33394792

OP, don't use vinegar. It is acidic and will rust your priceless heirlooms. Get some gun cleaning solvents and oil. Midwayusa is a great place to shop for that stuff.

Vinegar can, however, be used to remove rust. Just be sure to flush all metal parts with fresh water, dry them thoroughly, and oil them to prevent rust.

>>33394170
>diamond dozen
>lolwut

It's "a dime a dozen" symbolizing they are very very common and cheap.
>>
>gifted a ton of guns
>they're all boring old fudd rifles

It's like winning $100 in the lottery. It's nice, but not really what you were expecting.
>>
>>33393550
sell them, nobody needs guns this day in age. we live in a modern and accepting society, with that armory people will think you are an alt right trump supporter who hates muslims irrationally
>>
>>33395513
I hole-hardedly agree, but allow me to play doubles advocate here for a moment. For all intensive purposes I think you are wrong. In an age where false morals are a diamond dozen, true virtues are a blessing in the skies. We often put our false morality on a petal stool like a bunch of pre-Madonnas, but you all seem to be taking something very valuable for granite. So I ask of you to mustard up all the strength you can because it is a doggy dog world out there. Although there is some merit to what you are saying it seems like you have a huge ship on your shoulder. In your argument you seem to throw everything in but the kids Nsync, and even though you are having a feel day with this I am here to bring you back into reality. I have a sick sense when it comes to these types of things. It is almost spooky, because I cannot turn a blonde eye to these glaring flaws in your rhetoric. I have zero taller ants when it comes to people spouting out hate in the name of moral righteousness. You just need to remember what comes around is all around, and when supply and command fails you will be the first to go. Make my words, when you get down to brass stacks it doesn't take rocket appliances to get two birds stoned at once. It's clear who makes the pants in this relationship, and sometimes you just have to swallow your prize and accept the facts. You might have to come to this conclusion through denial and error but I swear on my mother's mating name that when you put the petal to the medal you will pass with flying carpets like it’s a peach of cake.
