What's the better option for a "you need to hit someone in the face or bad things could happen to you" situation, a big fuckin' maglite or a collapsible baton?
No, OP, your 'bad thing' isnt someone that's a Nazi.

A baton. As a security guard, i can say these help ALOT when someone gets roudy in the store and doesnt like it when i catch them shoplifting.
But a tazer works so much better, one that you can shoot at least 10ft away. Watching their body fall is just something else.

I'm talking about crimers, not nazis. Unless the person criming me happens to be a nazi.

Consider this, do you plan on carrying a heavy ass Maglite with you everywhere you go? If not, get the baton.

When i used to deliver pizzas id keep the maglite in my truck in the door. Helped a lot for identifying streets and adresses at night, and when id walk up to the door id keep it in the leg pocket of my cargo pants. I always figured it was unsuspicious, useful for lighting up dark areas, and potentially bashing or blinding if something goes down. Never needed it, but i kept a pretty good sense of my surroundings and and situational awareness.

The advantage of a collapsible baton over sold impact devices is their ease of carry. If you can and plan on carrying Maglite everywhere just stick with the maglite.

This and a lot of costal states have batons as illegal outside of police or security work

A hollow point bullet would be better.
Preferably when it's coming out from pic
