I have a model 1910 and like 4 boxes of .401 winchester left. It's kinda fun but not cool enough to shoot all the time.
>>
>>33386912
Seen a couple come up fopr sale recently. Usually around a hundred rounds with each. Last one they were also selling the dies and a full set of repair tools with parts and the books.
>>
>>33386912
Do you reload for .401? I can't imagine you would want to take it out shooting for such high price per shot if didn't.
>>
>>33386639
Don't have one myself but either 8x56 or 7.62x54r brass can be formed into it, and .330 bullets work best (same as the 8x56). I'd used 46gr of IMR 3031 for a charge.

I'm not 100 percent positive, but I thought the newer 8x56 bullet was incompatible with 8x50.
>>
>>33387131
An 8x50 can be chambered in an 8x56 gun but it would blow up on firing. An 8x56 can't fit into an 8x50 because of the shoulder difference and shorter cartridge length.
>>
>>33387525
I know the cartridges are incompatible, I was referring to the bullet they have in the brass.

Basically, what is the best bullet I could use to functionality emulate the weird looking 8x50r mannlicher if I was to handload, and where could I get it?
>>
>>33387131
No, they can use the same bullet. Or at least everything I've read says that. If you're leery you could cast your own I suppose.

Knee mortars are about seven rounds iirc. The flamethrower has somewhere between 15 and 30 seconds of burn time; probably closer to 15. Never counted. Also, detailed, dramatic as fuck mortal wound dialogue for downed bots and players. Adds a hefty Full Metal Jacket sort weight to the game. Never cared so much about the simple bot player in the trench next to me.

Red Orchestra is best series, and Vietnam SOON. I like me some battlefield sometimes too though, it's a completely different animal.

not related exactly but there is a thompson center .54 caliber rifle at my LPS for $99 and its not the muzzle loader is it worth a buy? It's also older looking than pic related and wood stock.

i haveno idea if .54 ammo is obtanium anywhere? would i have to load my own?

any info on this gun?

>.54 ammo

It's an inline ignition muzzle loader. You load it with pyrodex pellets or pyrodex powder and sabot .54 cal bullets. It ignites using regular primers.

You can buy those bullets from Midway. It's not rare at all.

Is it worth the $99 for a broke NEET such as myself?
>>
>>33389051
It's a muzzleloader so what you save in upfront cost you will more than eat up in hazard fee, supplies to feed it, and time.

If you're an enthusiast that doesn't mind spending a minute between reloads and 60+ dollars per "box" of 50 rounds, sure.

Otherwise, buy a modern gun.
>>
>>33389042

And i guess another question is how do i load the thing? Im blind here.

I have no idea how muzzle loader/inline ignition/blackpowder works at all.
>>
>>33389065
You take out a two little pyrodex pellets (that amounts to roughly a hundred grains of powder) drop them down the muzzle. Follow it with a bullet. Tap it firmly in place. Half cock the thing, place a primer at the breech end. Pull back the hammer the rest of the way and fire it.

You're also gonna have to clean it thoroughly ever 10-20 rounds if you want any kind of accuracy because pyrodex runs dirty, though not as dirty as black powder.

If you really want to build up 6mm Lee Navy ammunition you can use .220 Swift brass and go from there. The Swift was developed from the Lee Navy afterall.

I almost got into stupid obscure calibers.

My local Cabelas had a Vz. 52 that I almost bought. It was a neat looking rifle, and I was mighty tempted. All till I looked at ammo. Apparently 7.62x45 is hard to find, and not cheap when you do find it.

PPU still makes 8x56R in small quantities. 8x50R is pricey normally but if you're familiar with reloading you can nigger-rig 7.62x54R or 8x56R casings to work by reshaping the cartridges and cutting down the extra neck length.
