We've all grown up in the mass media age watching action movies or TV shows, and I'm sure all of us have guns that we saw back when we were kids (or even more recently) that we wanted back then and now actually have the chance to buy. We may have them now, or maybe not yet, but I wonder: Which of them have you always wanted, what movie or TV show were they from, and which character carried them?

I grew up in the 80s, so:

Mini-14 with folding paratrooper stock (The A-Team)
Stainless finish Bren Ten (Sonny Crockett on Miami Vice)
S&W Model 29 (Dirty Harry)
Ithaca Model 37 Stakeout (Sgt. Anderson in Tour of Duty)
Browning Hi-Power (Axel Foley in Beverly Hills Cop)
Beretta 92F (John McClane in Die Hard)

So far all I have is the Mini-14 (still working on finding a folding stock for it), but I'll get all the others pone of these days.

So what are yours? And don't feel constrained to the 80s - any era is good.

One more 80's movie gun I've got that I forgot to add to that picture, it's about the closest I can get to Scarface's M16A1 without registering it as a DD. Makes the thing extremely front-heavy, but it looks pretty neat, it's mostly just for show anyways.

Full retard Uzi (Every movie ever, they look stylish)

PSG1 (Metal Gear Solid, probably will build a clone of one based on a ptr, already have a 7.62 rf'nato though so not a priority)

MP5 (want one with a stock but will settle for a mp5k clone next time I have ~2,000 sitting around in my fuck around fund, but without the full auto the mp5k seems not so useful)

Not a movie or TV show, but Counter-Strike gave me a hard on for the P90. It wasn't even really its stats, because sure it was the best subgun but that's kind of like winning the special olympics. It's just that its design does something for me.

Looks like a Beretta BM-59 with a folding stock. It's basically an M1 Garand converted by the Italians to take .308 and a detachable magazine. There were full auto versions, but you could build a semi-auto version with a BM-59 parts kit and a Garand receiver.

I would love to get my hands one one of these Automag Model 180's from Sudden Impact, it's too bad the going rate is $4k+ and the ammo is unobtainium.

Although some company apparently purchased the rights to the gun a year or two ago and have been working on re-engineering the gun and releasing it to the public. They already offer refurbishing services and new uppers for the old Automags, but If they manage to make a whole new one chambered in standard .44 Magnum, I will not be able to throw my money fast enough at them.

Got a first gen P99 because of Bond. I don't have the OHMSS version, but that would be badass.

I would like to get a Spas 12 because of Jurassic Park.

Would get a desert eagle just cuz (old style, iwi, weaver rail, not the new Magnum Research abortion)

A USP match would be pretty awesome. I want a USP 45 because of Collateral.

Also, my grail, a Sig 550. Clive Owen was pretty badass with one in "The Bourne Identity"

It was actually a custom made 37mm fake "grenade launcher" where the ribbed handguard is actually part of the tube, the Cobray 37mm flare launcher wasn't even around yet when the movie was made. At the very end of the movie when he drops the M16, you can actually see the fake GL fall off the gun for a split second, before picking it back up and reloading.

Fun fact: the legit screen used M16A1 that Al Pachino shot in the film is going up for auction during the next James D. Julia Auction. So if anyone's looking for a Transferable M16A1 and you've got at least $50,000 to spare, here's your chance to own the one used by Scarface himself.

Probably both. Movies frequently create duplicate props for a number of reasons, including in case one breaks during a shoot. For example, there were four pairs of ruby slippers made for The Wizard of Oz - one is in the Smithsonian, one belongs to a collector in Japan, one belongs (or did, before recently) to Debbie Reynolds, and one went missing decades ago. All four were used during filming, so all four can legitimately claim to be the real ruby slippers. It's probably the same with the Quigley rifle - more than one was used during filming, and they can all claim to be the real thing.

The saddest part is getting everything you want/ realistically can afford. 30+ funs later, I don't know what else to get
>>
>>33405991
You'll find some. I'm at 70 some but have, at this point, completely run out of NEED guns rather than kinda want guns.
>>
>>33406009
Anything interesting you looking to sell?
>>
>>33391141
>Automag

I love the way they look, but everything I have read about them suggests that their performance was absolutely abysmal. The company that owns the rights to the design has a long road ahead of them if they want to actually make it good.
>>
>>33406009
I'm at the same point, lots of interesting stuff, but nothings filling my must have slot. If I got into reloading it'd probably open up a lot of cool obsolete caliber stuff, like a Winchester 1895 or a model 8.

I don't sell guns on principle, usually. But I am getting rid of an RFB hunter since I got the shorter barrel model afterwards and like it better.

God damnit, I've wanted one since this movie came out when I was younger. I could build one, yes, but getting the custom cut 8.3" barrel and custom making the front handguard retainer would be more of a bitch than I'd like to handle. Maybe one day I'll take that on.
>>
>>33391141
Had some mad customer in my gun shop the other day because I couldn't order one of those for him.

How much you looking to get out of it? I have wanted to get one of those for a while but was hesitant because some of the people I have seen say they don't function properly.

Ah. So THAT'S why the sand troopers on Tatooine were using MG34s in A New Hope, Han Solo carries a C-96, and Lea's carrying a Luger on Endor in Return of the Jedi.

Yeah, the SPAS-12 project guy does conversions, but they're about $200 and you've got to send in your trigger group for the conversion. I got my SPAS-12 with a button safety already on it for under $1600.
>>

Lol, the nerve of some people, is he so fucking computer illiterate that he can't figure out how to use gunbroker? There actually is one for sale on there right now, but it's almost $5k.
>>
>>33407330
There's a guy selling a SPAS-12 locally for $1200 with a button safety. Unfortunately, it's the fixed stock version and thus not nearly Jurassic Park-y for me.

The price is entirely reasonable, but most guns are expensive when you're a poorfag.
The price of a holster for one on the other hand is ridiculous. I'll just get some leather and make a appropriate sized sheath for it.

I got really interested in the rifle after watching the movie and finding a channel called Britishmuzzleloaders. What price would you expect a decent Martini-Henry to be?

I have a No. 4 Mk I so if I get a Martini-Enfield I can share ammo. Is there really a difference besides the handguard and .303 chambering?
>>

Mine is the original .577-450 cost me an even 600 bucks plus another 100 for the spike bayonet.

I dunno wat the .303 ones go for.

No joke, FN patented it. Thats half the reason that Monolith arms shotgun never went anywhere, as the litigious FN jews set their lawyers on them. The other reason is that it was never going to function reliably using rimmed shells, but that's neither here nor there.
