My simple justification for fraud is this:

If the Civilian Marksmanship Program could not get official permission to sell U.S. Government property pistols after their team of lawyers attempted to gain permission for a year, then it's highly unlikely that some no name shop called "Platinum Arms" or whoever else on Gunbroker could get permission.

There are literally tens of thousands of surplus 1911s which cannot be sold, sitting in boxes right now. They would be available if it were possible.

But I suppose we'll wait and see. Gunbroker hasn't responded to my complaint yet.

Colt reps have said on the phone that these were sent back to Colt due to problems with the cerakote finish. Colt replaced them with ionbond guns. How these are being sold is something of a mystery. One guess is that these were leased to DoD and were never actually owned by the US govt.

Ok, it will take a few posts

It isn't very "clean" but it works well, and I detect no movement pulling real hard and pushing real hard as if it were a barricade stop. We will see how it goes when I start shooting.

As you can see, BCM uses integrated keymod nut sort of thing. The top of the nut is large enough it can sit inside MLok and hang down correctly to compress rail between nut and handguard.

But, this big integrated unit doesn't have enough range of motion to slip through.

For extra range of motion, I took a file to the edge to allow more rotation opening up a divot in side , but being careful not to touch the upper lip and then potatoing any MLok compatibility because there is not much real estate this thing has to grab on to.

if you only have a variable scope on your rifle and you are all zoomed in on a target but then another target appears close front in you, what do you do? unzoom the scope? try to shoot fully zoomed in? I'm no guns so I've never actually looked trough a 1-6 scope

And here is the final product again.

I filed a small divot into the front edge of the keymod unit for a little more purchase inside of MLok. I also had to file off the plastic keymod recoil lug as the spacing was off and wants to push the KAG out at an angle.

Took about 25min of work and a couple fit checks. Going 'chootin tomorrow for function check.

Before somebody asks me "why"

KAG is my favorite hand stop. Keymod, however is extremely unaesthetic. I had a picatinny KAG on MLok rail section for awhile, but my own particular brand of autism doesn't like using rail sections on top of MLok or keymod (and making stuff direct attach only to particular attachment system I guess defeats the modularity side... but I digress)

So I wondered if I could modify Keymod to work with MLok. I looked up some dimensions, seemed close enough to work, perhaps just drilling out smaller Keymod screw holes for slightly larger MLok and just replacing hardware.

As it turns out BCM uses funky little piece that threw a wrench into my plans... so I just eyeballed and used a file and turns out it works just fine
