I'm trying to find a good, relatively cheap folding knife to order via Amazon.

Can you give me any help on the matter, how much would one spend on a decent knife without splurging? Looking for something cost efficient, and at least decent length for a folding knife, single digits.

Just theoretically, if I had to stab somebody, how well would it do?
>>
>>33383638
Less well than a fixed blade.
>>
>>33383665
Well obviously, but it's less practical to conceal + I mean as a secondary purpose, I need something handy, but stabbing quality and self protection is a good second.

I don't plan on carrying around a fixed knife, I need something I can have in my pocket, but not too short either
>>
>>33383699
Okay here's what you're going to do. Don't buy shit off amazon, go to a pawnshop or local sporting goods store and handle that shit. Heavy and sturdy is good, the locking action should feel extremely secure.
Like buying a firearm, you don't just order one online and expect to love it without ever touching it or experience with it.

Spyderco knives are pretty good
>>
>>33383539
what's your budget and what do you plan to do with the knife?
>>
>>33383779
I live in the middle of bumfuck nowhere ex-commy yugo shithole, I don't even know where I'd find that
>>
>>33383854
99% utility use, so I'd keep it with me on hand, the other 1% if I'm in a situation I deem I might need a knife to protect myself
>>
>>33383539
That thing you have in your picture is Chinese knife that is very expensive. Now, Chinese does not mean it's bad, in fact it looks awesome, but it means there are almost certainly fakes of it. I would be worried ordering something like that from an Amazon merchant.

This is why I'd prefer a folding knife over a fixed one, because I can't keep it at hand in a pocket.

As for the budget 20-40 Euro maybe 50, is that enough, ehh? I'd splurge more, but if I find I find the knife useful I might buy a really expensive one and top notch down the line, at the moment maybe something cost effective

Honestly, I know exactly jack shit about knives, but pic related Swiss knife seems to small, I'd prefer something a bit bigger.
>>
>>33383886
This. You're just going to get ripped off on amazon.
>>33383858
If you have the internet you live in a place that has stores. Look on google for a store near you.
>>
>>33383886
Well this is why I'm asking, I'm assuming /k/ knows a bit more about knives than myself, like any board there are, I assume, quite a few LARPers, but I'm sure there are a few knife enthusiasts maybe even experts who can help me find something cost efficient, and decent quality

In my opinon a good budget for getting a good folder that will last you years is $40-$150, starting with the Kershaw Skyline/Link or Ontario Rat 1, and ending with the Spyderco Paramilitary 2.

I can not recommend the Cold Steel Code4 enough, It's my go to work folder, I carry it over all my $100 and $200+ knives when I know I need a sturdy knife. I personally would (and did) go with the Spear Point, the Clip point is just as good, the I don't find the Tanto point particularity useful.

Do you have a knife with a kind of rectangular sheath that the handle looks like it is part of sheath or something?
Can you photo that one if you're the guy who has it?

Hmmm Not sure what if I have what you are talking about. Here is all of my fixed blades (well most of them) in their sheaths.

The only one I can think of that I own with a rectangular sheath is my Kanetsune Nishiki, the 3rd one up on the left. I'll post a second pic of it.
>>
>>33384725
Better pic of it, if this is what you were looking for. Well not really, I don't have any not super blurry pics of it with it's sheath.

I've seen some long term durability problems with the CRKT M line. Then again, I've never owned one, but my cousins (who are admittedly pretty hard on knives) have owned a few and they have been pretty messed up after a year or two.

Pretty much under $30 and I just default to Opinel, or say save up a bit more if you want modern.

Spyderco Tenacious, Ontario RAT series or Kershaw cryo are good "Under 40" options. I mean you could pay more for fancy high end steel and assisted opening but if it's going to be a utilitarian knife I think you're going to hit diminishing returns beyond that. I seriously don't know why people pay over 100 dollars for a pocket knife unless they're just genuinely into blades.

All three of those knives I mentioned will get razor sharp and hold their edge pretty well. I carried a RAT-1 for years and the opening mechanism was so smooth that it felt like it was almost assisted. My only complaint was that the scales were a little slick.
>>
>>33384853
I think that was it but I thought the knife handle blended into the sheath and made it look like one piece.

Best folding-knife I own. It aint cheap, but it´s well built. And something you trust your life on shouldn´t be the cheapest thing you can get. The LAWKS could be optimized, too small when wearing gloves.

Get an Ontario RAT 1 or 2. Like $30, especially if you don't pay extra for muh tacticool colors, well-made, and will last you basically forever unless you really fuck something up somehow.
>>
I like the CRKT Drifter in G10 witha plain edge, have it for a couple years as EDC
>>
First you need help to protect for enemy south Slavs then I'd suggest getting a cheaper cold steel fixed blade like a kobun or something. If you really want a folder then a rat 1 will probably do.

except people who are looking for a knife that can actually cut things, that is.

Or a knife that has a functional lock.

Or a non-garbage heat treat.

Or isn't made by a douchebag who deserves to get face cancer.
