on one hand, $630 is a nice price for a 1911 from any reputable brand

on the other hand, I look at my own $600 1911 and then see all these badass top tier pistols for $550-650 that I could have owned.

also you basically have to add $100-200 to any 1911's price, given the hilarious amount of break in time at the range they need to become a pistol even remotely reliable enough for any form of self defense option

so basically i regret owning a $600 ($750) 1911 instead of something like a P30 with a nice flashlight and spare mags

It took me two fucking years to learn about this. It took me two more years to learn that gun companies can and will ship a pistol without testing the extractor tension, or even ship them with overtensed extractors to guarantee "reliable" operation (like Ruger) so they'll please reviewers.
