Bullshit, Lockheed have been stalling about F-35 costs for a fucking decade, the reason Obama never kicked their ass about is was because he was inadequately advised on matters of military technology, in addition to this, he wouldn't see the F-35 program from a business POV like trump does, he was essentially told "Look Mr President it's going to cost a lot, end of story" while Lockheed and the DoD fucked around spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on consultant meetings and paperwork drafting.

Went with more cost effective manufactoring methods
Forced all the suppliers to agree on a price cut on parts
