Just picked up a 92a1 in the standard black, would like to class it up a bit with some new grips. I'm leaning towards classic stylings (wood grips), but I'm not opposed to something more modern. What are your favorite looks?

Also, Beretta thread

These look nice and are a bit thinner than the standard grips.

Expensive as hell though. There was a sale in Christmas, dunno if you wanna wait that long.

They have different styles and colors if you don't like the thin grips or want a particular color.

Getting rose houge grips if they ever ship. Next upgrades are the G conversion kit ( if there ever in Stock ) and a metal spring rod. Maybe see if a gun smith in my area can put a tritium insert in the front sight.
Hate the PD models recently only has the plastic not metal spring rod.
>>
I definitely recommend getting the thin wilson combat grips. Not only do they look cool, they're really grippy and the thinness helps with the beretta's chunky grip. Feels better in my hand and now than my P229.
>>
>>33379272
Yeah, my hands aren't huge and the current grip fills them up pretty good. I'm afraid wood grips would increase the grip thickness even more.
>>
>>33379314
That's exactly why i bought these instead of wood grips.

Because you bought a shitty gun friend. This is coming objectively from a gunsmith who has worked on 92's extensively.
>>
>>33379601
Please, explain your reasoning, sir.
>>
>>33379620
Take a competent, DA/SA 9mm handgun. Then double the parts count with springs and detents and some Italian engineer laughing and screaming PAIZANO into the schematics while cackling about imbecile Americanos. Also if you're going through with aftermarket grips watch out. They can bind your trigger bar and cause FtF

You having worked on beat to shit M9s in the armory as an E3 does not make you a gunsmith, sorry to break that to you.
>>
>>33379677

>heavy
To some , I like heavy pistols. But to the majority I give you that since they like light

>big
Again to some. Others like the larger grip on them and for me I love it , the glockenspiel has to slim of a grip to me.

>open action
And? Hasn't effected reliability at all.

>bascially open trigger mechanism
Like any other hammer fired gun.

>lol HAMMER!
DA/SA is tits , striker is alright for the single memory trigger pull but I like that feather light SA.

>big and wide
So what's with the lol heavy and large. I like it and so do other over the slimmer stuff.

>slide mounted safety
If your a retard and don't train then yes it's a bastard.

>ww2 era steel and surface treatments

Glocks are made from Austrian ordenance steel that's melonited and then parkerized. Berettas are made from chinese 1050.

>>
I have big meaty claws and the M9A1 with the rubber Hogue grips fit my hand perfectly. Its a fine gun, I do like my Hi-Power better though. However, if I had to go into a gunfight with a pistol, I would certainly choose the Beretta over my other guns.

ofc you would, no jam it into your angus and pull the trigger. you can do that safely bc the hammer will fail anyway.

I carry a 92 Compact regularly.

It's easily concealed with a hoodie or jacket, but if you're only going to be wearing a shirt, you sometimes have to dress around it.
>>

Theis IWB holster.

They're 60 bucks. They squeak a fuck-ton when you first get them, but eventually break in.

It's been tried and true for the last 3 years, though.

>>

Looks are subjective. I don't think it looks bad.
>>
>>33385541
It looks like hot fucking garbage.

They make small rail add-ons for 92s that don't cover the entire frame and make the trigger guard look like a tumor.

Look for one of those.

Or better yet, if your gun doesn't have a rail, then buy one with a rail if that's what you want.

I carry the 92 more than the shield. I don't find it that difficult to carry with just a t-shirt or light jacket at a 3 o-clock position. Note that i'm 6 foot 180lbs, so not that big a guy. I carry appendix if i'm doing more walking than sitting. I find it easier to conceal appendix, though not as comfortable as the 3 o-clock carry. The weight isn't that big a factor with a thick leather belt. Sorry for the pic, EDC is the only pic with the holster. Disregard everything else.
>>
>>33385557
Like I said looks are subjective.
>>
>>33385565
thanks for the reference point. I'm 68" 155lbs so i'm rather small by comparison.
i may end up just getting a 92 as the range toy and go with some cheapie small guy for the carry. i'd rather not go with the compact as i'd like to get a threaded barrel
>>
>>33385611
yeah but at that point if you wanted a plasti-gat why not just go all in with it
>>
>>33385648
It's for people that already had the gun. You don't buy the gun planning to buy one of those too.

>>
>>33385741
I don't own one. And they sell a shitload of them, so they must not be ugly to everyone.
>>
>>33385767
if someone is desperate for a rail they might buy it knowing it's ugly as sin.

hell, if no one bought ugly shit hi-point would have never sold anything at all
>>
>>33385767
People aren't buying them because they look nice. They're buying them because they're a cheap way to put a tacticool light on their pistol.
>>
>>33385741

I don't think so.

>>33385630
Kek'd at the typos. Yeah that's pretty much what I had in mind when I got the 92fs/shield combo for EDC rotation. Having a smaller carry choice is nice when I'm wearing my going out to dinner attire, just seems to fit the role of a formal dinner or meeting.

I've tried it, it tends to print to much and tends to be more uncomfortable than just carrying on the hip. So I'll just stick with hip carry. The 92fs works in formal wear, I just can't tuck the over shirt in.

Most box stock berettas are more mechanically accurate than the shooter. If more is required a fitted barrel or bushing allows a skilled shooter some improvement. The AMU/National match berettas are the absolute max for the design because they are use by extremely skilled shooters that would put the same amount of work into anything they shoot
>>
>>33385611
The thing is I hardly ever see guns with recover grips AND something on the rail.

If the grip design wasn't shitty and the trigger area was cleaned up they wouldn't look bad with a APL, but there are like 4 people on the planet that use the rail
>>
>>33386722
Just proves my point that people buy them because they like the way it looks.

>>33379238
Why do you want the metal guide rod? The plastic one is strong. It's rated for NATO loaded 9mm, can handle +P regularly, and you can even use +P+ as a "duty round" just not a practice round.

I put a metal guide rod in mine before I knew better and just thought metal was better, but to be honest, it's $20 you don't have to spend.
>>
>>33380089
>bc the hammer will fail anyway.
You knowledge of guns is inverse to your grammatical ability.

I have quite a few Berettas and if in conversation anyone ever insults them or says they don't like them, I always just say "Enjoy your Glock" and every single time they get all butthurt because they are always, every single time, a Glock boi.
>>
>>33387511

Might want to re-read the thread, chief.

I'm defending Berettas and telling Recover boy that his meme rail is an insult to the 92.
