Your chances of doing anything remotely high speed or scout related as a 19d are lower than your chances of being basically a 19K who happens to work with bradleys. don't buy into the meme videos the recruiter and army websites will show you where some ranger tabbed air assault mountaineer guys in OCP jump out the back of a c130 in a buggy, then tell you that's what you'll be doing as a 19D.

it depends on your first duty station, and if youre going to Hood, you're almost guaranteed going to be a miserable bastard on a bradley in some godforsaken motorpool all day every day for 3.5 years. there are no opportunities, there is no training, there is no "i'm a badass motivated soldier so they'll send me to X school". if you're in first cav as a 19D, you're sitting in a motorpool, and theres very few ways to get out of it until you PCS the fuck away from that horrible horrible place.

airborne contract, fort drum or airborne first duty station and you're good to go, but you don't get the choice until you reenlist and PCS
