What do you guys use on your guns?
I'm looking for recoil mainly, i currently have an AFAB which is great with flash but i think there's better out there for recoil. I was looking around and found these 2:

https://www.midwayusa.com/product/2367911460/pri-muzzle-brake-quiet-control-1-2-28-thread-ar-15

http://f-1firearms.com/dragon-slay-ar-brake/ with video:

so what do you guys use/ recommend?

If you're going to have something other than a flash hider or a suppressor, get a compensator.
>>
>>33363756
I was trying to use a general term to what you put at the end of the barrel, and I do have a flash hider it works wonderfully but im trying to see if i can get something for recoil just to try it out.

is the stuff that mickulek shills any good? i mean hes not bad at all. http://www.miculek.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=27

I think I'm gonna do it.
>>
>>33363923
What is that?
>>
Can you have a muzzle break and a flash hider in one package or would it being doing both things really shitty
>>
>>33363971
Im OP and I have an AFAB which is supposed to be both and its a fucking amazing flash hider but i think the recoil could be better which is what im looking for now.

I have the Silencerco brake. It functions fine, but I picked it up a few weeks before Silencerco discontinued MAAD QD in favor of ASR. That, combined with some financial changes that pushed back my Saker purchase a few months leave me less than enamored with it.

In the meantime I've been doing some research, and I decided I was going to purchase a Griffin Armament M4SDII. I will get their Linear Comp or Blast Comp here at some point. I have used the Linear comp. It is an excellent muzzle device. I can purchase the blast comp at cost though.

Flash hiders do nothing for me. I don't shoot at night often, when I do I am using a light that washes out the flash anyway and with fair amount of gunsmoke in the air and picking up muzzle flashes in light spill it gets disorienting quick anyway. I don't have NODS, and if my gun gets used indoors in a self defense situation I really don't think the concussion of 160+ db is going to leave me thinking much about muzzle flash one way or another.

>>33363930
Some mall ninja ass muzzle brake I got on Amazon a while back. I forget the brand
>>
>>33363690
The only muzzle device I've changed on my guns was a SEI vortex flash hider on my AR-15, and a long XM177 device for my 10/22, for reasons.

this is why im changing mine, i really have no need for a flash hider. hence this thread.

anyone has any videos of the things being used, just because you tell me it reduces rise doesnt mean theres others that dont do it more.
i need factual evidence before i buy.

>>33364069
What kind of gun are you putting the break on. I think a good break is probably called for on 308 and larger calibre guns, but on an AR-15 and such... Nah, get a tuning fork and hang it off your barrel, even if you don't need the flash hiding you get better barrel harmonics.
>>
>>33364103
it is an AR 15 I just want better follow up shots. I was even thinking of putting a compensator in my beretta

those just look cool though.

It's always going to be a compromise. Just get a dedicated brake, comp or flash hider depending on your needs.

There are numerous vids on GA flash Comp... not blast... my apologies
>>
I have some flash hiders and muzzle brakes coming in from Ukraine company "Strela". Will give a quick rundown when I finally test them...
>>
>>33364405
have you tried others? hows the follow up shots?
>>
>>33364224
As a fellow gear queer, I get it - it is a lot of fun modding AR's into "gamer guns". And when you do get everything tuned perfectly, the net affect is fucking ridiculous. But it makes an already expensive hobby much more expensive - first you buy the compensator, then you get an adjustable gas block, and then you need a lightweight bolt carrier. Now that you've built your dream gun, you're bored with it, and end up selling at a biiig loss.

If you actually want faster follow up shots (you doing 3-gun or something?), alright, 100 bucks for a comp isnt the end of the world. But draw the line there, and start practicing instead.
>>
>>33365937
i already got the other 2, so might as well, im single and make a lot of money so really thats not an issue.

>start practicing instead

that is true too, i need to do more of that.

I've gone through a shit ton of muzzle devices, but this one was the most fun of all of them.

Wow, that looks like it would be nearly useless and a pain in the ass to clean.

Recommending the M4-72.

Ummm...to clean? I put at least 1k rounds through mine, never had an issue with carbon buildup. Tune it to how you drive the rifle, put a bit of red locktite on the set screws, and you're golden.
If you want the most recoil reduction, you're better off surfing here https://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2016/10/jeremy-s/ar-15-muzzle-brake-shootout-3/, instead of /k.
>>
>>33366070
that actually looks neat since you can customize it to your gun.
>>
>>33363690
I run Silencerco ASR brakes or normal birdcages. Simple man who finally got his can.
>>
>>33366151
it's an absolute beast

mate recently got one
shot it outdoor

the muzzleblast diverted from the brake hurt my ears from 8m away

absolutey massive

Kinitech brake/blast deflector is what I use.

I've got an idea.

So I got a Silencerco ASR muzzle break because eventually I'll mount a suppressor. The blast from the side is horrendous for anyone on either side of you and if you go prone.

Now could you use the regular suppressor adapter and a short length of titanium tube to make link related? http://sdtacticalarms.com/SDTA-pig-cover_p_72.html

Obviously you'd need to thread the end of the pipe to match the threads on the suppressor adapter, but would it work or would it simply blow the short length of tube apart?

I know that with the real pig flash director thing it has something similar to a suppressor baffle inside that directs the muzzle blast outwards in a cone pattern.
Would a muzzle break inside a short tube do the same?
>>
>>33365937
>>33365966
Changing to a short-reset trigger will give you faster follow up shots too.

I know geissele makes a super 3 gun trigger that has a really short reset, light pull, and you can mimic 2-3 round bursts pretty easily.

https://geissele.com/super-dynamic-3-gun-trigger.html

You'll just pay out the ass because its basically a meme trigger.
>>
>>33364333
Asstheticz, family. I think it looks pretty cool, but I doubt it will really have any useful effect on felt recoil for a 223 so I just haven't bothered putting it on yet
