How is this not considered one of the best handguns on the market, or at least on this site? These things are amazing. A compact, alloy frame 9 / .40 for 2/3 the price of closest comparable SIG in price, with at least as good quality and durability if not better. Plus those CZ ergonomics Sigs can't touch. They're absolutely wonderful to shoot, and there's even a full-size version.

Is it all able to be chalked up to the CZ-hate meme? I know they trigger certain people, but people are pretty nonplussed when it comes to SIG these days, too (QC issues, over-priced, etc). If you want a alloy-frame, duty-quality semi-auto pistol, how many options do you have?
>>
>>33363326

CZ hate meme??

The only reason I own my sp-01tactical is BECAUSE of /k/. I always thought they were cheap meme guns

I mean my beretta 92 double action is better than CZ but my CZ has better ergos and decocker only, which i prefer.

I've fired one a few times, also regular CZ 75s and a CZ 97B. The 97 has a thick grip, but all were accurate, smooth, and easy to shoot- reload- shoot more.
They were all Parkerized and I did not notice anything bad as far as finish.
Later I bought a 97B.
>>
>>33363382
ive seen no blacklash... they're solid for a great price.

The only uninteresting CZ's are the striker fired polymer guns..

polymer striker fired is the epitome of meme gun
>>
>>33363392
also I like some heft to my pistols; shooting is more fun.

Those just hit state-side a few months ago IIRC ... I read a review saying they were fantastic for what they are... but what they are really doesn't interest me much.

I'm a big fan of DAT ALLOY
>>
Shot a 75D exactly once, constant FTFs. Maybe it was just dirty as hell.
>>
>>33363326
The problem with CZs is that I don't know which compact one to get.
Seriously, the ones I have seen are heavy but imo technically that is a bonus + they are less common (at least where I am) which is very annoying because I just want to try one out.
>>
>>33363474

Just get the D without the rail. You'll never use it anyways.
>>
Stupid question probably, but I'm planning on buying a p-01 in the next couple of months. Is there any real concern about the aluminum parts wearing out before like 10,000 rounds? I know it's a good alloy, but still curious.
>>
>>33363383
theres a third group that doesnt hate cz but is very skeptical about them. the people who have owned them for 5+ years and shot them regularly. with experience you endup very skeptical about czs and there supposed excellent reliability because youve experienced their flaws on a personal level but cant bring yourself to straight up hate the gun. however if you ever point out any of the flaws the cz defense force who just bought their guns and are still in the honeymoon period jump down your throat.

i want to point out the p01 isnt a good ccw gun its just a little too big/heavy to the point where you wont want to carry it if you have other options. you could carry it its not impossible to carry but you wont want to carry it. if its open carried its great but as a ccw its a hair too big.
>>
>>33363623
You mean he'll never use it while carrying, or it's simply better to have a shotgun under your bed for home defense?

I only looked at a sp-01 because /k/ hated Cz
HK/sig fags hate CZ
I honestly think it's because a Cz is a very nice firearm for a fraction of the price.

Glock fags think their Plastic guns are 10/10
When They Shoot my sp-01 and they always have a puzzled look on their face.
>>
>>33364231
The ergos on the cz makes me so fucking hard
>>
>>33364231
I kind of regret getting a G19 instead of a CZ P-07. The Glock is nice and all, but I feel like I'm missing out.
>>
>>33363652
The p-01 is the only pistol to pass NATO testing
It was more durable than a Glock 19/17
M92, and a few others.

It shot 20,000 +p NATO 9mm without any cleaning

>>33364297

>>
>>33363326
I have a P01.

My only 2 complaints with it are
>it rusts when I carry it
Like, I'll carry it for 4 hours in a kydex/leather hybrid holster and the (uncoated) "stainless" barrel will be completely covered in rust.
>the trigger pull is seriously over an inch long in DA and even the SA pull is long
It's not a *bad* trigger, and I suppose perhaps appropriate for a carry gun, but it's ridiculously long. There's a reason CZ came out with the Omega trigger.
>>
>>33364451
>barrel will be completely covered in rust.
I've never had that happen with my sp-01
Are you oiling the barrel at all?
>>
>>33363326

dude, calm the fuck down. They're decent pistols. I've got one. The double action is on the heavy side and it's single action is alright. DA/SA triggers are mediocre anyway, although I understand some of you have a fetish for it.
>inb4 HUURR DUURR DOUBLE STRIKE CAPABILITY
The sights are pretty shit and need immediate replacement out of the box (as with most pistols) and it would be lighter if they went polymer instead of aluminum on the frame
>inb4 HUURRR DDUURRR METAL IS MORE STONK
The slide has limited grip surface, so it requires a goofy dainty grip to manipulate and is kind of a pain in the ass.
The ONE THING it has going for it above most other handguns is the grip. It's about the most comfortable pistol I've ever held. Fits my hand like it was made for it.
Shoots about as well as any other pistol, other than that first shot being DA and always pulling the shot. Yeah, if I practiced with it enough that wouldn't be a problem but why would I? There is literally zero advantage to DA/SA over a striker fired. If you pull the trigger and it goes click, don't waste time with "double strike" and just tap/rack/bang that bitch. double strike MIGHT solve ONE kind of problem. tap/rack/bang WILL solve MOST problems.

also.... on ergonomics? that decocker (like most of them) is mounted way to high to be "comfortable" to use.
>>
>>33364587
Yes. As heavily as I can without it literally soaking through my clothes.
>>
>>33364606
>that decocker (like most of them) is mounted way to high to be "comfortable" to use.
What the fuck is with this? I realize a decocking lever isn't something you use constantly but I've never encountered one that's remotely comfortable.
>>
>>33364653
I have no issues with the decocker on my P-01 or RAMI. They seem to be in an almost perfect spot to hit with my thumb, and they don't protrude much as to be uncomfortable for carry, for me at least.

Now my S&W's with the ambi slide mounted safety/decockers? Fucking agreed.
>>
>>33364587
not him but my barrels and gripscrews rust constantly too really depends on the enviroment
>>
>>33364653

I'd say it's just inherent in the design. To mount it lower maybe you'd end up with too many moving parts or otherwise overcomplicated the design.

I say this as someone that's not an engineer or gunsmith. Just a somewhat educated guess.

it's just another reason why DA/SA set ups are mediocre. I get why they were a thing, but it's a really outdated design and strikers are just... better. objectively. in every way.

you get your dipshits that scream about double strike and the fudds that think hammer = reliable.... but really they're just an oddball design with no real use these days.

Single action pistols are great if you want a perfect trigger. Double action are great if you don't want to deal with safeties or just like a long, stiff pull (that's what she said). Strikers are great if you want simple, safe, effective. DA/SA is only great if you actually LIKE having a wonky DA and a lack luster SA, while also having two different pulls for your first shots... gggaaaaayyyy
>>
>>33364751

sorry... I get that people like DA/SA for whatever reason... It just triggers my autism and I go on ranting about why they're shit. DA/SA works okay I guess.... I just cannot understand why it's still a "thing" at all
>>
>>33364788
Shorter, lighter, smoother trigger pull than DAO or striker guns?

Especially when you have a manual safety and can carry cocked and locked.
>>
>>33364833

if you're going to carry cocked and locked, then just get a true single action and you'll have a MUCH better trigger.

I find that DOA pistols (good ones anyway) are lighter and smoother than the DA on any DA/SA pistol.

Good striker fired triggers are indeed shorter and more consistent than the SA of DA/SA pistols too.

and why oh why would anyone CHOOSE to have two different trigger pulls for their first two shots? again, if you're going cocked and locked to avoid that..... you should have bought a single action pistol instead.
>>
>>33364635
>>33364728

>>
>>33364902
>>33364964
Ok so that's probably why.
CZ has stepped out their coating game as it was one of their weak points.w

>>
>>33365113
Internet says CZ does use a black oxide coating on their new barrels.
>>
>>33366351
only in the US

all new manufactured SP01s come with the old barrel finish here in Europe
>>
>>33365113
Not that I've seen, every new CZ I see sitting on shelves has a naked "stainless" barrel unless it's a P10 or Shadow.
>>
>>33366020
Or how about I just stop carrying a pistol designed for carry that rusts at the first moist glance?

It's still a fun and accurate range gun but I'm not about to either pack the thing full of grease or detail strip and scrub rust off it every day.
>>
>>33364873
I haven't found a DAO pistol yet that has a sub-10lb trigger pull. Most DA/SA triggers are under that.

For that matter, I can think of a number of DA/SA pistols whose DA pull is shorter than that of the "popular" striker guns such as Glock, the FNS, the P320/P250, and the XD.

I don't know why anyone would choose to have 2 different trigger pulls. I have no idea why decocker-only DA/SA pistols exist, especially when the manual-safety DA/SA design is nearly 40 years older and better in literally every single way.

Gee, sure would be nice if there were SAO pistols available outside of 1911's and cowboy revolvers, because, y'know, I want a not-.45 with more than 8 rounds available. But holy shitballs, look at that! Literally nobody makes them! Great argument you have there!
>>
>>33366495
Dude, idk why DA pull is so hard for you.
I have zero issues using a DA pull on the 1st shot
Infact, my DA pull is usually on the bulls eye.

You have the train with it.
Just like you have a train with a striker to avoid shooting urself in the dick by accident
>>
>>33366396
>naked "stainless" barrel
CZ says it's a hammer forged steel barrel.
They don't say anything about stainless anywhere

It's metal/heavy, most are going the way of lighter polymer.

It's DA/SA, most are going the way of a consistent striker pull.

The skinny slide is hard for some to grab, it may become an issue under stress even if you don't notice it at the range.

It's not ambidextrous, something I consider necessary when a gun has a safety.

You have to choose between safety and decocker instead of having both.

Really it's just outdated. If that's your thing go for it, it's a classy gun. I refuse to wear douchey plastic sunglasses, you can refuse to shoot pussy plastic guns.

I've got a CZ 75B, HK USP, Glock 17, and Sig Sauer P226 MK25.

I shot all of them head to head at 10-20 yards with the same ammunition. The Sig Sauer kicked the shit out of the other guns in the accuracy department - no contest. The CZ and HK were about even, while the Glock finished dead last. The CZ has the best build quality, and feels completely bomb proof.

I think the CZ is a great all-around choice considering the price point $300 lower than the Sig, but the P226 is an unbelievable shooter, at least for me.
