fudds hate it, should i hate it too? (asking only for my g19)
>>
It's fine for fucking around at the range with, but don't trust it with your life.
>>
Steel case is fine if you don't reload and don't mind possibly needing to clean your chamber a little more. Steel core isn't good on metal targets and fancy backstops.
>>
>>33363119
Glock 19s are made to eat pure vinegar and piss. So what you have a broken part? Parts are like $10 each, I'd shoot steel all day
>>
>>33363142
That is fuddlore, the ammunition isnt steel-core, the jacket is bi-metallic though.
There are some steel-cored surplus munitions, nothing you will find in a box of tula.
>>

If you don't care about your guns, then eh.

Feels good, man
>>
>>33363142
I hate it because I reload.
Damned wolf droppings all over the range.
>>
>>33363424
you can reload steel case. primers are different though on most.
>>
>>33363119
If you're cheap, go ahead.
>>
>>33363292
>>33363471
this is just bait. you aren't articulating why its worse.
>>
>>33363205
The entire projectile of the new tula is steel.

Its shitty, shitty soft steel that won't really hurt backstops or steel targets, but still.

>>33363424
Don't do that.
Steel cased is fine for whatever. Buy some and see how it works, but it wont hurt your gun.
>>
>>33363119
Steel case is fine for guns that were designed for it.

I pretty much shoot nothing but steel in my Combloc guns.
>>
>>33363320
Same.
>>
>>33363524
You are retarded, they just switched to Zinc washed steel jacket. It is All lead underneath, stop spreading your bullshit lies.
Go cut one of your Tula open, you will find lead underneath, no way they could get standard bullet weights using anything other than lead.

I love steel case. I shoot it in everything. It's cheap and fun!

People who think it adversely affects any firearm in any way are idiots who will believe anything. Watch, they'll post fuddlore links trying to prove me wrong.

I like it, i shoot a lot of Hotshot steel cased 8mm out of my Yugo. It works fine for what I do with my rifle, haven't used it for my FN-49 though.

kek. Here's a real operator.

Google : steel case ammo void warranty

Of course you know much more than the manufacturers.

Dolt.

Warranty weasel clauses ≠ actual, provable harm to... anything.

It's just a way for companies to fuck people out of their warranties. Meaningless.

I bet you think every FN pistol needs to be professionally serviced after 2k rounds as well, because the warranty demands it.
>>
>>33363119
It depends on the cartridge. It's fine with straight wall and it's fine with respectable taper. You should avoid steel 308 except in an AR10 or PTR, and for 223 throw a drop of oil behind the locking lugs every hundred rounds.

Your Glock 19 will shoot 100k steel case no problem.
>>
if you have to worry about common ammo ruining your gun than congrats, you bought a piece of shit gun. Glock eats steel fine, tula and brown bear is all i shoot out of a glock 17, about 5000 rounds, no issues
>>
>>33364115
if you have to worry about bunker fuel oil ruining your Mercedes than congrats, you bought a piece of shit car. Tugboats eat bunker fuel fine, diesel is all i use in my Mack truck, about 50000 miles, no issues
>>
http://www.luckygunner.com/labs/brass-vs-steel-cased-ammo/

Wolf and Brown Bear shot out AR barrels in 6k rounds, while brass cased Federal went 10k rounds without issues.

Believe want you want, but there is a downside to cheap ammo. You can always just buy a new barrel.
>>
>>33364180
>muh gun was built SPECIFICALLY with the intention of only using top quality ammunition
Im not even going to bother explaining to you why the function of a firearm is not comparable to that of a high quality engine
>>
>>33363424
Have you ever heard of a magnet? It's easier to separate steel than .22's and bullshit you don't reload for.
>>
Anyone else notice that steel case ammunition is dirty as fuck? With the possible exceptions of 7.63x39 and 7.62x25, it's also underpowered and far more subject to FTF. Accuracy is piss poor as well.

If you buy a junk gun, load it with junk, who cares? If you have a gun you want to keep, use appropriate ammo and you'll have it for life.

Years of shooting it in combloc guns, months of shooting it in western-made guns.

Steel case ammo is crap, but it is cheap. Go wreck a good gun, I don't give a shit.

FWIW a phenomena that would likely be even more understated in lower velocity rounds such as common handgun calibers.
>>
>>33364571
>but you make up the cost of a new barrel in two or three thousand rounds.

Depends on what firearm you're shooting, doesn't it?

If you so poor that you can only buy shit to feed your gun, maybe you should go back to Pokemon as a hobby.
>>
I only shoot steel cased ammo, U.S made ammo is worse quality and too expensive to plink with.

I have premium self defense ammo and other high end brass for my CCW and SHTF.
>>
>>33364626

Until it fails to cycle.
>>
>>33364644
anon, how exactly is a failure to completely cycle going to reduce barrel life...
>>
>>33364218

I have around 9k rounds in my 6920 (first gun I ever bought) all steel case, zero accuracy degration.

lucky gunner sells ammo to make a living, they want you to buy more expensive brass ammo I'm shocked.
>>
>>33364641
>I only shoot steel cased ammo, U.S made ammo is worse quality and too expensive to plink with.

It's cheap plinking, true. You might have to buy a new barrel or two and detail strip more often.
>>
>>33364644
What does failing to cycle have to do with barrel wear?

Someone tell the ATF that wolf is importing 9mm steel core, if a retarded fucking mouth breathing fud answers the phone it could get interesting.
>>
>>33363465
This, thank you. Because steel is so much stronger than brass you can reload it many more times too. I'd only reload aluminum once or twice though...
>>
>>33364674

cleaning a barrel is pretty unnecessary outside of running a bore snake once after shooting, your first shots will be all over the place on a clean barrel, then will get consistent once the barrel is fouled.
>>
>>33364685

I've had more issues with U.S made ammo then russian steel case, multiple duds from remanufactured ammo, and a squib with federal.

my steel cases failures remain at zero.
>>
FYI the steel in these kinds of rounds is super mild, pretty much on par with the shit they make coat hangers out of...

>>
>>33364754

Well, you go ahead and believe that a fouled barrel is better. kek.
>>
>>33364739
Even softer than that. It needs to have the same drawing properties of brass. Aside from work hardening and annealing the steel used is pretty much identical to C2600 brass.
>>33364750
Idiot.
>>
>>33364739

steel cased ammo is softer then brass cases, it's called annealing.
>>
>>33364750
There's the slightest but of merit to what he said but it's so far out of context here that it doesn't apply (it's the shit that bench rest railgun shooters worry about).

In my personal experience, Western calibers in steel case will sometimes not perform that well in certain western caliber chambered guns. But, all my slavshit will shoot steel case all day.

It really depends, my friends AR can't shoot tula .223 worth a damn, my AR can shoot hundreds of tula without fail.
