The new stainless generation of .22 kits from Taccom, CMMG, Spike's, etc are all excellent and avoid many of the problems with the older parkerized kits. I've had a standalone CMMG 1:16 twist dedicated 22lr upper for a few years now that has been great.

In fact I'm rebuilding it now to replace the M4 fsb and handguards that have been on it with a freefloat. I'm also finally giving it its own lower likely with an AGP folding stock since it is a good "why not" option for a 22lr.

It is also an excuse to grab a catch22 bolt catch and the new blackdog mags so it has true BHO.
