Who else here owns a firearm more expensive than their daily driver?

>my priorities are 100% in order

That looks like the inside of my tercel, but that design looks, older.

My fun only cost 1/3rd of my automocar though.
>>
I wish. My car's nothing special, but I'd still have to buy an NFA gun or something ultra-rare to beat its price.
>>
>>33347953
God damn. My last car cost 18 grand but I sold it. So yeah my commuter car costs close to my rifle, 2 grand. It goes from A to B and I'm 28 so impressing girls with a car is a young man's game.

Me. I have a '97 Subaru that is worth about $800. Works fine and doesn't give me any issues, but I have a springfield MC and 4 HKs all worth about the same or a little more. On the other hand I have $20k in savings, so my finances are pretty in order.

I just really do not give a shit about cars and have never understood or cared about the whole car culture thing with being a guy.

it would be very interesting to see a test of two cars, one 10 years old, driven for 10 years, and a new one drivin for 10 years. to see how the maintenance is. One would assume the 10 year old car would incur more maintenance. but the new car would have more expensive maintenance.
would be nice to know

>Own a minty Colt Pythong and a new in box HK94 pre ban and some other funs

>>
>>33348134

Once cars get past a certain age, they actually cost very little to maintain because anything that could have broken would have already broken down. Sounds counter-intuitive but years of driving shitboxes has taught me this. My current car is a Honda CRV that I paid $2000 for over two years ago and the most expensive thing it's needed was new tires (Which are wear items anyway). "New" cars break down all the time and if they're out of warranty are much more expensive to fix than older cars generally. Hell, I can fix 95% of common issues on my Honda with a screwdriver, a 10mm socket, duct tape and an OBD2 scanner.
>>
>>33348056
Older women are more impressed by luxury cars. Or at least I assume they are based on all the compliments mine gets.
>>
>>33348134

Ive had the same car since 97 (97 Toyota corolla) upkeep has costed barely any thing. That's because I learn to take care of shit myself, do preventive maintenance before shit breaks. So plz, shit the fuck up
>>
>>33348617

They are but also most women don't know jack shit about cars. You could drive a 25 year old $1000 Lexus LS400 and as long as it's clean and everything still works on it they'd think it's top-tier because it's a Lexus with a V8 and heated leather seats.

What?
>>
>>33348887
People offer warranties because the chances are the problem will not arise. It is beneficial because they offer it and people buy it with peace of mind, however they actually cash in on the warranty very little.

Why would they offer the warranty if they thought it would cost the money in the long run? Doesnt make sense from a business stand-point. Buying an extended warranty for a car is the biggest meme ever.

>>33348189
whats the gun with the funny buttstock?
>>
>>33348144
I assume you meant me (>>33348003) since I'm where the reply chain started.

It's a 2014 Ford Fiesta ST. The cost/benefit works out very well for me, as anything cheap that offers similar performance comes with much higher maintenance costs and would be substantially less efficient. It's also uniquely well-suited to my locale and lifestyle, in a way that nothing on the used market really matches. (Except maybe an older GTI and those are maintenance nightmares.)
>>
>>33348942
warranties are fucking based from CarMax on crazy shit you'd never be able to own (as a non retard) otherwise, like V12 S classes.
>>
>>33348942

New cars come with a warranty for free. Can last as long as 10 years / 100,000 miles (Such as with Hyundai which make excellent vehicles such as the brand new 2017 Ionic which offers best-in-class fuel economy and received the JD Power award for best new hybrid in initial quality. Stop in to your local Hyundai dealer to schedule your test drive today!) and usually covers catastrophic failures in the powertrain.

I had one on a Porsche 911 I had, and when I had MAJOR problem (read about the engine bearings on the IMS bearing problem) and when I took it to them they bitched and tried their best to not pay for it. It was like a $20,000 fix, which meant replacement of the engine.

>tl;dr fuck warranties
>>
>>33349052
it's very difficult to be in a position to actually afford a lot of stuff for the sub 30 crowd. I got lucky as fuck and had parents who cared so I didn't get fucked with debt like most do.

Boomers living to the 80s fucked up the economy memes aside. I've had to work with 60-70 year olds working entry level STEM jobs they were 10x overqualified for as an undergrad because they wanted "something to do." This absolutely fucks the job market so young people have basically zero chance of advancing until they die off.

>2k car getting you laid

Niqqa I drive a sports car and though it cost me 50k girls have literally asked me to take them out because they want to ride in it. Not some 6/10 slampigs either. Literal models. The car combined with the fact I am 6'5" 250lbs athletic build and intelligent with a respectable career has allowed to me bang dozens of chicks.

I fucked a rappers wife, (a model) had her choking on my dick gasping for air as I was speeding down the highway holding her head down balls deep on my cock.

If I'd been driving some shit box she would have never had an in "hey anon, nice car. Wanna take me for a ride?"

Nice cars really do get you laid whereas a shit car will cock block you from all but the hipster girls who like flannel wearing numales riding fixies or driving a Prius.

If you want to bang them hot hoes. Those 6' tall 140lb model chicks with D cups and pouty lips that will let your rape their face, choke them and go ass to mouth on the first date you NEED a nice car.

About $5k cash which is 6 months living expenses currently.

Income is about $2200 a month.

Truck is $670. I only pay my truck stuff. Insurance is $100 a month. Work covers health insurance and such.

Literally my next 2 years income barring my truck payments will be spent on investments and myself plus saving for house down payment.

I had $8k last saved month but uses that as my trucks down payment.

100% true, not a wingle word of embellishment.

Ive got nothing to prove, just telling you bros the way it is. The nice cars get you laid meme is real. I didn't believe it myself, bought a nice car because I figure I've earned it after years of hard work disregarding bitches and getting money. Wanted something cool and fun to cruise in style. It's 100% true, nice cars are pussy magnets. Not just the wild sluts either, nice girls too but especially the wild sluts.

People who say girls don't care about the car a guy drives are guys with shitty cars.

It's not just a car though, you need something else going for you too. Girls like nice cars, nice shoes / cloths, going out General and a guy with a job they can brag to their friends about. Also good in bed but you will never get to that if you don't have at least a few of the former.

Now it won't matter much if you are some awkward greasy neck beard unless you are fuckoff rich and drive a Lamborghini to your mansion where your pilot takes you in your helicopter off to your yacht to cruise to your private island in which case you could be an IRL fat bastard and you'd still get gold digging 10s.

I've done plenty of experiments, people are generally superficial as fuck. It's not bad, strangers have nothing else to go by until you open your mouth, then even if I am dressed like a bum as I do often on days off bumming around the city people can tell by my proper command of the English language and eye contact that I am not some dirtbag.

Try it, walk around in old cloths unshaven and see how people treat you. Then get cleaned up and throw on a nice tailored suit and see what happens.

This is the kind of situation where a cheap car makes sense.

I, on the other hand, often spend upwards of four hours in the car every day, and much of that time is spent on the phone. Comfy seats, bluetooth, and a good stereo with satellite radio are a godsend. (If anybody's wondering, by the way, I'm a project manager at a small firm that does R&D for automotive aftermarket and motorsports products. One day I'll be driving from the San Fernando Valley to Orange County and back to go meet with a client, the next day I'll be all over the place visiting machine shops, and the one after that I'll be driving 3 hours each way to go to a test sessions at Buttonwillow or Willow Springs.)

Chevy's are the worst financial decision you could possibly make. Driving a Toyota feels like a luxury car by comparison, especially when that 100k mark rolls around. The Chevy will undoubtedly pull to the left because of its shitty transmission and feel like steering a boat because of the shitty steering system.

As much of a nationalist as I am, Americans suck at cars, and guns for that matter. These are just the facts.

>Driving a short school bus sized truck

I don't get this. So many people drive these giant things and put up with poor handling, poor gas mileage, and looking like you have a small dick and for what? 99% of trucks on the road are hauling air everyday. Just buy a car and rent a truck when you "need" one, or get an SUV that's actually designed for off-road. Trucks are designed for hauling and they're too big for paths now since they started making them fuckhuge for you needledicks to use as a symbol of compensation.

Because I can only afford to own one vehicle, and I need it to be able to put up with Minnesota winters. Tacoma can fight snow as well as my Blazer did, and is better at climbing up hills than any other motherfucker I have driven thus far.

I don't think guns ownership can be related to penis size in all cases, the concept of defending oneself can apply to any group. But car ownership has two distinct groups, the ones who get what's gets them from A to B in an efficient, safe manner, and the ones who feel the need to show off and "peacock" with something expensive or huge. That must be for some reason...

No, you have larger areas of cover.

>more space
Which is also important. There's a ton of extra shit in a patrol vehicle. The light interface, radio controls/speaker, and laptop dock all go where the center console would go. Then the cage in the back which pushes your seat forward. We also have to transport fat arrestees sometimes.

Getting in and out is also a challenge. Even as a fit bro having 25lbs around your waist is hard to stand up from an awkward position with. All that said I still like the smaller vehicles seeing as they're easier to drive, unless I have a partner that day because brushing arms gets awkward after the 10th time.

>>
>>33351182
>>33351288
>Today's small truck is what a super duty was 10 years ago. They make them all huge now
People who believe this are literally retarded. The only thing you can't get in a truck now that you could before is a death trap micro truck like a Nissan Hardbody, and that's a good thing because those fuckers crumple like tinfoil in an accident.

What has happened is that trucks now come from the factory with bigger tires (85 K20 came stock 28 inch tires, most everything now has at least a 31), and everything has a huge grill to fit a huge radiator to cool a really powerful motor (new Tacoma has bigger radiator than my 85 as well).

But the trucks aren't actually bigger, it's just that the most popular configurative aren't the smallest one any more (70% of mid 80s Chevy half tons are single cab short box, now most trucks are crew cab short box). My crew cab long box 85 is half a foot longer and just as wide as a new crew cab long box, the biggest difference is the new truck is styled to look like it's as big as Half Dome in Yosemite, and they ride a little higher.

Yes, tiny little shit boxes have disappeared, but that's true in every category (a new Fiesta dwarfs an old Ka) and it is due 100% to crash safety laws. The big trucks aren't any bigger than they ever were, they are just styled to give you that impression, and you have taken that bait hook line and sinker.

The Tacoma is actually an exception, kind of, the 2015 Tacoma almost a foot longer than the 14s for no real reason, they've got 19 inches of airspace between their grill and their radiator.

I see where you are coming from but that's retarded. Things can and will go wrong with any machine, especially used cars. I bought a five year old Vauxhall Astra for £5,000. Two year warranty was like £250 or something. Fuck their servicing plans etc can always get that cheaper elsewhere. Anyway within six months my engine blew, needed completely replaced, cost £3,000 which they paid for. Warranties (if relatively inexpensive) are a good idea (on used cars). Even if a fault arises and it's not too severe (like mine was), you'll be covered. Also nowadays work is very rarely cheaper than a few hundred pounds.

I ended up having several other issues with that car, repairs alone would have outstripped the actual cost of the vehicle within two years. It's warranty ended and an engine warning light came on. Got a knowledgeable pal to have a fuck with it so light wouldn't show, took it to a dealership and traded it in, got 2 grand back and bought a newer Astra lol.
>>
>>33356901

You do realize thats the same argument leftist make in relation to people being into guns? Different people have different interest, its what makes the world interesting.
>>
>>33356562
And how do you valuate something other than selling it?

The used car will have the same value as the brand new one aside from whatever small difference a person places on a newer model for their daily driving.
>>
>>33358550
>>33358550
Because most things have intrinsic value, like gold, or guns and even cars. Just because you dont want to sale your car, doesnt mean it isnt worth X.
>>
>>33358591
>intrinsic
And how do you think that value is determined? Other people list similar or identical items for sale on the market and market prices are determined. Just because there is a "fair market valuation" placed on similar items does not mean your item will necessarily sell for that much.

Let's try this thought experiment. If no one ever lists a used Toyota Tacoma 2018 model ever in the future for 10 years as a freak coincidence and then in 2028 you want to sell yours. How would you determine the value of your specific truck?

You don't know for a certainty that your vehicle will sell for its "fair" market price, and thus you don't know for a certainty what its valuation is until you sell it.
