I have a few shotguns and pistols made in Turkey and I must say I am quite happy with them. Any one have an opinion on Turkish made firearms? They are cheap and well built, though replacement parts may be hard to find
>>
I have a sap6 (Canada) and its awsome. The 1911s seem norinco quality with American price.
>>
Roach made firearms work, and are doing some neat innovations, the return spring on the sap 6 for instance
>>
They seem well made for the price, though I share your concern about parts.

I won't buy turk guns though. Just too picky about what I add to the collection.
>>
>>33342915
Hate turks, love their low priced good quality guns,
>>
They have flooded the market in Canada, and it's a good thing for us, since norinco has a large market share, so far I have a few and no complaints, my sap 6 did need a bit of work. What is your opinion on using jb weld?
>>
>>33343391
Much agreed, 1488 brother, this is /k/ though so let's talk about guns made in turkey rather than their shitskin population and government
My gf bought a girsan 9mm and is a nice build. Better sights than any of my Chinese shit and a tighter fit too.
>>
>>33343391
buy turk gun, kill turks with them

>>33342915
Turks are scum and need be exterminated like the roaches they are.

They make good guns. Syria will be the graveyard of Er-DOG-an's dreams.

Thanks pol, how have their guns held up after a few thousand rounds? Any failures? Any malfunctioning of the mechanics?

I worked for general dynamics and was apart of the late 1980s Peace Onyx Program, where we taught Turks how to build F-16s.
A whole bunch of us brought back shotguns in our suitcases. The guys that came back through New York got theirs confiscated. And guys like me who didn't go through a connection flight and went straight to DFW, Texas customs didn't care.

It has a beautiful design on the receiver and stock. You can tell it's done by a guy and a chisel and not a machine. High quality and good craftsmanship.

It's stamped
Üzümlü Tüfek Sanayi Kooperatifi
KALIBRE :12 KROMLU

On a side note,
When I was there, they still were behind on industry standards. Some of the things they did was unbelievable.
But I have friends in Boeing and Raytheon who say that now the Turkish industries have very high standards, that are on parr with ours. And their work on Boeing fuselage sections have been absolutely top notch.
Mexico, on the other hand, who also built a Boeing fuselage section, was apparently total shit.

I assume today their firearm industry is equivalent to their defence/aviation industry, in terms of quality.

Getting a Canik TP9SF Elite soon, so I'll let you know how they go. I'm kind of nervous to carry a gun with a 4lb trigger though. Especially since the gun isn't exactly battle-proven.

Post ww2 Turkey has license manufactured weapons like the HK G3A3 and the MG3. License manufacturing means the goods aren't just copied but gets quality controlled intensely by the original makers. No way would companies like Heckler & Koch allow back yard manufacturing methods. Not saying the end result is 100% equal to the original but it's going to be quite close. Which means Turkey is probly decent gun makers.

They were gun makers before ww1 even, but desperate wartime economy made for some pretty liberal definitions of quality. Never mind repair.

When we went TDY our first shirt got the customs forms in advance and we shipped a bunch of shotguns back with no hassle. (Incirlik, 1990s). I didn't buy any but they looked decently machined.

>>

>>33351124

Pistols and shotguns. They can't have any long guns that are rifled. I assume old smooth bore muskets are legal.
There is a long process to obtain permission to own a crappy pistol. You are required to get a physical and mental evaluation every year. Pay alot in fees and taxes. It's also damn expensive.

All Turkish hunters hunt with shotguns and slugs, because rifles are not legal.

If you go to the Kurdish part of turkey (south east) around Diyarbakir. You will find Black market guns. Most of them are old and hidden away. Alot of people didn't turn in their rifles when asked to. So they are still out there.
>>
>>33349816
Getting hunter license is quite simple and owning shotguns is legal. Owning a pistol is legal and not that hard but carrying it requires a special permit which is very hard to get. There are knockoff versions that look like assault rifles but are actually smoothbore and used for hunting.

But the reality is a bit different. At my cousin's sons' circumcision ceremony (yeah we celebrate that) I've seen legit MP5s, G3s and AK47. They were old and probably only used during stuff like this but still it is accessible if you know a guy that knows a guy but enforcement is only that relax in rural areas.
>>
>>33342915
>replacement parts may be hard to find
And that will always be the deal breaker for me.
>>
>>33352188
Will probably be easier to find as the guns take a larger market-share.
>>

>>
>>33352405
Didn't know Turks browsed /k/.

What do you think of all the anti-turk memes?
>>
>>33342915
The quality is entirely dependent on the actual manufacturer and one is often a supplier for multiple importers and rebranders. Anything produced by Huglu/Kral is high quality. They were at one point even manufacturing over-under sporting shotguns, getting a Japanese company to fabricate the stocks with native woods, and then selling them to Europe and America. Caniks are from Huglu. Chiappa, not so much. A lot of the mixed reputation of Turkish shotguns and pistols was the result of importers jumping between manufacturers but keeping the exact same name and model for the rebrand, or by changes in management at the corresponding companies. I advise that anyone looking for Turkish weapons do a little research into who exactly is making that item in what year if you're going with a less established name. Budget Winchesters, Stoegers, Weatherby's, CZ's, etc. are often just the same Turkish company fulfilling contracts and then the importer slaps their own accessories and name on them. Make sure they have a customer service division in the US so you can actually use the warranty if needed.

>Some of the things they did was unbelievable.

>What do you think of all the anti-turk memes?
Most are funny. Some used to rustle me hard (because partially true). I've got titanium skin now through high tolerance, which is nice. The memes are directed at our shit politicians, so the feeling's mutual with most of the people on the street here anon.

Canik 55 SA is the very best plastic 9 on the market for the price. Check out the reviews.

Yeah, now anyway. My great uncle got run through with a bayonet outside his door by an Ottoman soldier, so his mileage may vary.
>>

Not really a firearm but I'd rec zenith ammo.

It's cheap and fires pretty good (haven't had a problem with them).

https://zqiammunition.com/ is where you can buy them online but I think walmart has their bullets for a cheaper price.

Too funny. That is the same as my girsan 9mm also from turkey. Very minor differences

I've got a Uzkon AS16 and it's a really shit gun no matter how we look at it. The pump has got play in it, the metal is badly machined and got many tool marks, the plastic is badly molded, the front sight wasn't fitting flush with the barrel, I had to push it in with a vise, the finish is awful and gets marked very easily just by pulling the pump, ejection is very weak as the gun doesn't have a real ejector. It's a worthless piece of shit, even for the price, chinese junk is better made.
>>
>>33343575
Yet you own slavshit
>>
>>33342915
I own a Canik Shark that I've carried for duty for several years now. Despite being all metal it's extremely light, nearly as light as a Glock. The only complaint I have is that the finish seems to be absolute garbage. The exterior of the barrel almost looks like paint is flaking off, and the finish on the frame is being removed at a prodigious rate via holster wear.
>>

Trump loves Turkey/Erdogan though

https://www.nytimes.com/2016/07/22/us/politics/donald-trump-foreign-policy-interview.html?_r=0

The only guys I've meet IRL that are anti-Turkey have been anti-gun liberals to be honest.
>>
>>33351414
>Modern Armenia would get absolutely butt fucked.
They have a defense pact with the Russians in case they'll get invaded. It's a reason why Putin wants peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia due to the fact that he wants these two nations under his influence
