There are much worse problems to have; I really count myself lucky. That said, it seriously fucks with my social life because I can't recognize anyone I don't spend a year in proximity with, and even those people I can't recognize out of context.

Also makes movies with lots of characters very difficult to follow. Godfather is confusing as fuck when you can't tell anyone apart. Over the course of that movie, I was able to consistently recognize the godfather, after about 30 minutes, the son, and eventually people who were definitely neither of the two but were affiliated with the family. I basically would have needed name tags to follow the movie effectively.

Memory itself is fine, but faces just don't click.

That's been my approach this last semester. It's okay, but I still don't have a good way of judging how long I've known someone, or forming any personal relationship. The other party has to do all the work. For months I may as well be seeing new people every day, though I'd have a good shot at recognizing a voice or mannerism. It's resulted in some interesting patterns, for instance, all my long term friends are extremely visually distinctive. One is unnaturally tall, somewhere on the upper end of six feet. One is into steampunk gear, etc. I also have formed some of my most solid friendships online, less due to security and confidence and more due to my not having any trouble recognizing screen names, or, in the case of something like Garry's mod, exotic player models. Most of the females I have known long enough to garner interest in or gauge interest from wear their hair in odd ways or have bright highlights.

All the normal factors still go into the formation of my friendships, but they're also guided in scope by who I can actually recognize on a day to day basis. It's really fascinating to live with; just wish it wasn't also so fucking annoying

Glad I've got some solid friends though, on and offline. The loneliness only really gets conspicuous during the winter because high inclination. Spam vitamin D and it's okay.

Right after Columbine, I was in kindergarten, and I was outside during recess with a handful of small stones, pretending to be a WWII bomber (Accelerated Reader let me get a book from the library for free, so I chose one about WWII-era bombers), and throwing the stones at the kids on the wooden train. The recess lady flipped out and sent me to the principals office, then called my mother. My principal was chill, thank goodness, so we hung out and talked about God, she gave me some candy, and told me not to throw things at other students again.
