What are your opinions on the USP and why it is the best handgun ever made?

Shot a friend's USP once.

I finally got to experience and understand what a truly bad trigger feels like.

My Usp .45's trigger sucks the dick and its magazine is feminine compared to my FNP's nutsack mags, but goddamn if owning a usp doesn't make you feel like you have two penises, I don't know what will.

Why is that?

Guys they are HKs just buy as many models as you can

How do you like the p2k? How does it compare to p30 or usp?

WRONG
>>
>>33341203
Well I'm not a subcompact fan, so it's my least favorite HK I own, that said don't hold it against the gun in general just the SK model.

It very much reminds me of an "updated" USP - it just kind of takes the USP guts and modernizes the externals a bit, really nothing to complain about other than it doesn't have the USP AESTHETICS, but then again, nothing does. That said, I literally only shoot my EDC P30L LEMs

he's saying it's stabby on the back strap

overall one of the small issues

Biggest downside to the USP is the spongey, creepy inconsistent trigger.Easily remedied with LEM tho

the USp is shit
if it was so good it would be a main service pistol and it isnt. Sig won that contract because sig is in fact the greatest Side Arm manufacturer

True statment. My busy is a navy seal and said they love the p226 an not that dig invented the strike fired p320 they are all using that now. He also said said something about it using a body on frame design like trucks do(they are pretty tough, right?)

>>33346362

I guess I don't care who "thought it" first, I stand by the reasoning tho

Also if you are lanklet tier like me the lightness of the trigger makes repping easier than a slightly shorter but heavier striker trigger. with a striker trigger I have to exert more strength on my grip and with my trigger finger when slapping at full speed or I might spill out of the box

It doesn't have the fancy recoil spring, correct? What's the point of a USP clone without the single most important part of a USP?

>>
>>33343809
The conversion is easy as shit, if not entirely A E S T H E T I C

I'm probably going to do if it I get the cash, .40SW is gay anyway, and it's not even permanent. (unless you count the mag)
>>
>>33346692
Forgive me if I'm a dumb little fuddslut, but isn't another value of the fancy recoil spring that it handles +p ammo better? Would a buffer ring have the same effect?
>>
>>33339424

Is it 1993?

Literally what's the point of a hammer fired pistol with a shitty, mushy trigger?
>>
>>33346692

HAHAHAHA,
Who is this autistic skeleton?

Why is he practicing the world's worst draw?
>>
>>33346745
Honestly not sure, I would assume in general they both tame every kind of ammo at least a little. It's not like a compensator that requires excess gas to "work" and apply the counter force.

Still carry the 1st Gen USP Compact in .45 I bought in Germany back in the late 90's.

Never had a problem with it. Ever. No stops, FTF, FTE.. mags are a little pricey with the finger rest floorplate, but so what?

FYI - I've used SIG. We were issued 228's. It's a good pistol but .gov contracts are usually awarded based on bulk price of the pistols, spare parts availability, maint. contracts, etc...

Whomever can lowball the overall price for everything, wins. Doesn't necessarily mean the best pistol wins. Politics can also play a big part. See: M9 Beretta.

Most times, weapons are usually not adopted because those doing the adopting have the best interests of the rank and file in mind.

Not gonna be a gun snob and sneer at another man's sidearm. If it's effective, he can feed it and can hit reliably with it, he can use whatever he wants...

are you fuckin retarded or something....? Or do you just base your e-pinon on jootube videos and reading HKforums.net?

because he is retarded and never fingerfucked a LEMon.

>I literally only shoot my EDC P30L LEMs
Is it because you like it more or because it's your EDC?
I'm trying to decide which would be a more enjoyable way to burn about $1k, a P30L LEM in 9mm or a USP45 Tacticool.
>>
>>33347894

>wants to blow $1k on a pistol

*shrug* Why opt for the shiny shit?
I know this is a USP thread - and I'm very much an HKfag - but just a question:

Why not go old school?

Pistol A in 9mm will hit just as hard as Pistol B in 9mm. Or .45... or .40.. or fill-in-the-blank.

So, why not go Off Menu? Get something like a Browning Hi Power? One of the early ones with insanely anal retentive attention to detail and tangent rear sights?

It's a proven system, there's metric shit tons of spares laying around, St. Browning (praise be unto Him) designed it... what's not to like?

Both really, IMHO best trigger system every designed, inherently super safe, easy to be super accurate with, constant in every way and fast.

But yes I carry one gun and shoot one gun only, almost never spend time on another pistol and maybe shoot a rifle a few times a year.
>>
>>33347992
consistent*
>>
>>33347959
I figured I should get in on the HK meme at some point, and part of that meme is their prices are pretty ridiculous.
Part of the appeal for the USP is the looks and because it seems like a good suppressor host if I ever wanted to make it an HD gun. And part of the appeal for the P30 is a combination of John Wick, and it feeling pretty gud in the hand when I fingerfucked one once.

My collection so far is a bunch of older steel frames, and I figured I should actually get some polymers for once. I'm not huge on strikers so I figured an HK hammer gun would be the way to go.

>>33347991
It's pretty good-looking, I won't lie. I held a modern Hi Power the other day and it felt alright, I didn't pick it up though. I feel like I should have picked it up at $650 OTD lightly used, and that thing vanished in an instant.
>>
The USP trigger is fine. It's not even spongy. It's consistent if you know what to feel for.
>>
>>33348044

Fair enough. I picked mine up about 20 years ago. Not a huge fan of striker fired weps, but guns are a toolbox and all have their place at the table...

I will reiterate that in the 20 years that I have owned my USP Compact, it has never given me a single issue. Ever. Many thousands of rounds downrange with it. It's still my good weather go-to EDC gun. The sights are the only thing I changed on it - went with Tritium sights, same profile.

By now, it's an old friend. Know it better than I know my wife (also German and also picked up at the same time - late 90's).

But, you make the decision based on what fits YOU the best - not the opinion of an old broken down ex-gunfighter...

Hi Powers... I confess a weakness for St. Browning's designs... late 20's/early 30's weps were made by trained artisans, not banged together with plastic mallets by some scrub off the street for minimum wage...
