They seem like a really good concept for home defense. Something that fills the gap between pistols and ARs. Pistols require a lot of training and practice to become proficient. ARs are great but 5.56 is kind of overkill for defending a small enclosed space. Why not something in between. A small, lightweight carbine that you can hand to pretty much anyone and they will be able to hit whatever is in front of them.

Because 5.56mm IS the "in between" caliber. That's why it exists.
>Muh over penetration
Buy hollowpoints.
>>33331706
What do you mean by small caliber? A pistol caliber carbine?
You mean like a hi-point, not a bad idea to arm people with those for home defense. Despite what people say about the pistols, the carbines are pretty good.

PCC was my first thought.
a ps90 is another gun that fits
Keltec Sub2000 would be a great alternative. Not pretty but very compact and uses several pistol calibers.

>No tacticool gun in 30 carbine

I like the Keltec 2k just because it takes Glock magazines
I like having my sideArm match my primary like that
They're becoming more popular lately. Have you not noticed the sudden proliferation of AR-9s, Scorpion Evo 3s, and Sig MPXs?
>>33331706
9mm/45ACP AR's are a thing, Sig MCX, various keltec's and hipoint carbines, and PS90.
There's plenty of PCC's around, with AR's in those calibers their making a big comeback too desu.

Because 30 carbine is a shit round. It was shit when it came out, it's shittier shit now
>>33331903
IMI magal
>>33331706
Because shotguns exist
There's nothing more effective at close range than a #2 buckshot and a miss isn't going to go through four walls and kill your neighbor taking a shit
>>33331706
I would buy the shit out of a highpoint/keltech-esque carbine in 10mm auto
>>33332046
least aesthetic gun ever
>>33331826
Why must they be so damn unaesthetic though?
>>33332042
I don't want it for practicality. I want it for fun.
