So /k/, due to some recent, very shitty events I am now a nofuns poorfag. I need a cheap home defense option that everyone I live with can shoot, will not over penetrate, is California legal, and legally classifies as a rifle. I figured .410 is my best bet, but I don't have much knowledge on the subject. So, where should I start? What are my best options? The cheaper, the better, I don't have much money.

It's a very long story that I really don't want to get into right now. I might make a thread about it later though.

whats wrong with a 12g to expensive? or is it banned in commiefornia or something?

Not everyone who lives with me can handle 12 gauge (or even 20 gauge).

there are reduced recoil loads and if you can't handle that, it's dubious you can handle .410 from a Taurus judge...
>>

This.
>>
>>33326694
I wouldn't call the Judge economically effective, considering the $450 pricetag.

But it WILL take a man down with ease.

Rossi Circuit Judge?

Can fire 45 and 410, is considered a rifle, fully Wood stock, so will be forever exempt from a-salt riffle bans

make sure you grasp the cylinder, really tightly, and in front, you want to prevent gases from escaping.

You do realize those things are like $500 though, right?

And if OP is bitching about a $450 gun then he can't afford an even more expensive one.

A .410 is actually stupidly expensive ammo. Get a 20 gauge if you want smaller, but the cheapest is just a basic 12g. Get low recoil rounds if you're concerned about that. Any rifle rounds including 22lr will still sail clear through drywall layers. What ammo to use is a whole other argument, but know that buckshot can still easily go through multiple indoor and exterior walls and at least one stud. Your safest option is to aim well.
>>
Found this for under $300. But you could get something cheaper if you check out local pawn shops.

you get shot at close range with a .410 and let us know if you went down or not
>>
uhh wasnt there a video of a cop gettin shot with a .410 handgun

pretty sure he drove himself to hospital cause of lack of penetration
>>
>>33326962

But it will. A 410 slug or buckshot to the chest at 10 yards will kill you fast every time
>>
>>33326958
Well I mean, he wants a 410 that's classified as a rifle, that's pretty much his only choice

That sucks dude, .410 is among some of the most expensive ammunition you can buy.

Decent .410 I would trust to load in a defense gun will run you just over $1 per round.

Other than that, I love the round and how it shoots/performs.

PDX1 will leave a nice group at ~30yds through my break-action .410

You might want to consider looking at a 12 gauge shotgun and using, mini shells as they tend to be just barely above .410 recoil wise with NobelSport Minibuck firing 3/4 ounces of shot (6 pellets of 00 buckshot) at 1250 FPS and the Aguila mini shell buckshot firing .7 ounces of shot (a mix of #4 and #1 buckshot) at 1200 FPS, while .410 buckshot on the light end fires 2/3 ounces of shot (4 000 buck pellets) at 1200 FPS. That would put the NobelSport Minibuck at having only 10% more recoil than the .410 buckshot and the Aguila mini shell buckshot at having only 5% more recoil. I should also note that 12 gauge shotguns tend to weigh a bit more than .410 shotguns which will reduce felt recoil even further with those mini shells. The shorter mini shells also have the advantage of being able to fit more in the shotgun's magazine. Just look up reviews and make sure any 12 gauge shotgun you're looking at doesn't have problems with shorter shells.

The shotgun in that video was loaded with birdshot, which everyone should know by now isn't particularly effective at stopping people quickly.
>>
>>33327888
It's also at less than 10 feet meaning she pretty much caught it all still in a tight group in the chest. From a full sized round.
>>
>>33327773
that was 12g birdshot you dummy
>>
>>33327968
Yeah, at close range from a cartridge with more powder than a .410.
>>
>>33326363
slamfire shotgun made with whatever plumbing pipes you can find at your local hardware store.
enjoy blowing your hand off for roughly $25

also might not be cali legal to own/make one but its better than being niggered to death.
>>
>>33327916
Yeah, birdshot has never had impressive performance despite how much people on the internet talk it up. Firing a ton of small, light pellets that barely penetrate just isn't effective, even if you have all the energy of a 12 gauge behind it. .410 buckshot loads on the other hand tends to be loaded with 000 buckshot and have comparable muzzle velocity to 12 gauge reduced recoil buckshot.
>>
>>33327975

penetration is all that matters

birdshot can not reliably penetrate deep enough to hit any vital organs

the difference between a .410 and 12g is the amount of pellets. The pellets that are there have the same weight and power.

12g 000 buck = 10 pellets @ 1200fps
.410 000 buck = 5 pellets @ 1200fps

12g is like being shot with 10 individual .38spl rounds
.410 is like being shot with 5 individual .38spl rounds

they are equally deadly, 12g just has the advantage at longer range because youre more likely to get more pellets on target by throwing more of them. At 50y you might get hit by 3-4 pellets from a 12g where as with a .410 it could be 0-2

Lady barely knew she was just shot at, what was she thinking walking in the same room?

>>33327916
Good to see birdshot a shit but thought that the only difference between .410 and 12 gauge was that .410 holds a lot less of everything shot wise, while .410 slugs performs similarly to .45lc?
>>
>>33328057

Would 1 1/2 ounce of BB steel birdshot at 1550 fps Pentwater adequately? It's cheaper than buck and has about as much energy as a 300 win mag
>>
>>33326363
Here ya go faggot, but good luck getting it shipped to commiefornia https://www.slickguns.com/category/ammo?caliber=8
