this .357 sig has been banned for carry by many departments, it will ruin your night vision, too much unburnt powder exits the barrel then ignites, it's worse in shorter barrels and will blind the fuck out of you in a dusk or lower light situation

10mm out of a longish barrel is about equal to a .41mag out of a revolver, if you think that is good enough for bears then that's your answer

you can put a lot more rounds into a bear with better control with a GLOCK 20 than with a 44mag wheelgun or a 500 smith and wesson mag

having shot 9mm FMJ clean through freshly butchered bull skull, I maintain that shot placement is the primary killer. Btw, there was a vid of drunk russians shooting a polar bear with 54539, hitting it in the spine rendering it's hind legs useless with the first shot. brutal vid. if anybody knows it, pls post/link.

shot placement is always key

if a 10mm hotload won't do the job then neither will a .44mag and if that is the case there is no good solution outside of rifle cartridges
