they're probably not pushing enough volume to negotiate a low ppu with their contractor
since they're a "high end brand" because of travis haley they have to charge "high end prices"

the actual prices for parts is super cheap. you buy the cordura on big ass rolls and the things like plastic buckles, shock cord, velcro, etc is really fucking cheap in bulk.

I work for a small tacticool gear company and our actual prices are 1/3-1/2 of what it actually costs and we outsource our labor to another US company. a place like SOE or tactical tailor is making hand over fist because they are doing all their sewing in house.

As someone who worked for Tactical Tailor for a short while, they're really not making much of a profit margin.

This is because they are constantly replacing worn out or nearly worn out equipment and they only hire US citizens instead of hiring illegals or outsourcing to china/vietnam. I think even their newest sewing machine goons were making $11.10 an hour.
