Well 5.45 and 5.56 are actually real similar according to some tests I dug up. For a bug out situation 5.56 win the availability test. I'm going to look up those tests. They were gel tests and both had similar range and cavitation the only difference was that the 5.56 was faster but not by much, and the 5.45 tended to keyhole in some cases whereas the 5.56 would fragment more often than not.
