Redpill me on the BAR
>>33315665
it's a very heavy, and very old gun
shit by today's standards, but still a neat piece of history
>>33315665
No, it was outdated before it saw serious combat.
Now fuck off.
>>33315687
You fuck off nigger.
Good for ww1 long in the tooth for ww2. Military ruined it completely when they fucked with the design after ww1.

>redpill
It's best held with the barrel between your teeth and your toe on the trigger.
>>33315665
Too late for WW1, too early for WW2. American modifications made it worse.
Best variant is Polish.
>>33316359
the Poles make every gun better
>>33315665
>cutting edge weapons system in WW1
>overweight hunk 'o junk by WW2
>served in Vietnam for some reason
>>33317139
I wouldn't call it junk, but you are right. There were better options by the time WW2 rolled around.

If I lived between Germany and Russia at the time, I'd make sure I'd produce good guns because I'd clearly need to use them at some point.

This video should do the job just fine.
As for the suppression debate, the "traditional" machinegun of the time was more capable of area suppression, but the BAR accomplished what it sought to do in smaller areas. If the BAR was used in isolation, this might have been a problem, but the BAR was backed up by traditional machineguns. This provided the area fire that the BARs lacked. Considering you aren't ever engaging as just a squad alone, this is perfectly acceptable.

Best variant is the Colt Monitor desu.
