I buy online from brick and mortar gun stores with better prices than my LGS, so I guess it's a win-win.

I don't really buy new guns anymore, and I don't see why I should get my gunsmithing done somewhere faster and cheaper when I would have to pay and wait for shipping. Ammo I buy online by the thousands when a deal pops up but otherwise I handload, and nobody near me sells components.

I like the lgs. They are nice and have okay prices. Someshit its just wew, but most of the time prices are reasonable.

Only deal with 1 local store, I'll give em all a shot but most become pricks. This store matches almost every online deal I've thrown his way and if he can't he gives free transfer and bg check. Always includes a box of ammo for each sale. Pretty good prices staff is amazing and never tries to force anything on you. $17 transfers

I don't know about my current LGS since I just moved, but big boxes near my old house generally had better prices than LGSes, with a few exceptions. I usually go in to LGS to do transfers and buy a few boxes of ammo just to support them, though the majority of my ammo is hand loaded or bought bulk online.

Now I work at one such big box store, but I'll probably still go buy at LGS, since I get blue label and other leo/mil discount.

i drive right past Midwest Industries every day to and from work. objectively the best store in the universe. best stuff, best dudes, best prices.

I personally don't like to buy firearms online. It's the whole 'paying for a gun that I haven't inspected' thing. So for actual firearms I do go to my lgs. Their prices seem very comparable to what I see online and are somehow cheaper than the big box stores in my area.

But for parts, almost exclusively online.

There is only one LGS I go to, they did $50 bucks of gunsmithing for me for free. I buy all my accessories from them because of this. They're the only people in my state I've seen so far that actually know what they talk about and I've been to plenty of fun stores here. Selection is bland though as far as actual firearms.

Cabelas has much better prices on ammo and they have their "gun library" which has a gem every now and then. A buddy of mine got a Norinco RPK for like 800 bucks.

There's one here in southern CA that charges $75. Fucker is a mega tacticool ex-mil douche who probably has never touched wood in his life. Instead, I go to the nice dudes across the freeway who will sell anything and only charge $25. By far the lowest in the area and all of them are wholesome guys

All of the LGS's in my area are overpriced except for my local pawn shop. Said pawn shop also always has a lot of milsurp and other harder to find rifles.

I can't exactly order online either since I live in CA.

My LGS is fucking bro tier. Prices are very competitive with online stores when factoring in shipping and transfer fees. Ammo is about the same. I asked a few weeks ago about a mag adapter for 5.56 stripper clips, and he said he gets them for free and he'd save one for me and give it to me for free. Always helpful and friendly, more than happy to show you new guns. All in all, 10 out of 10. Very rare for a rural area. If you live in the 757, look up Northampton Firearms in Cape Charles.

I was into the LGS meme until today when I walked into our only big one (TGD firearms) and they guy seemed grumpy that he actually had to answer a customer's question instead of carrying on his conversation with his buddies

The only place I got decent deals was with my friend's store. You really have to look to find a deal in one. There are 4 left in my city and two have mark-ups so ridiculous I wish I had pics of them. A used ISSC .22lr glock clone for $450 because "nobody else has one." A Maverick 88 security with an aftermarket stock for $400. I just walk out. The only reason those places are open still is either they offer conceal classes or have gunsmiths.
