Has anyone here got one of these?
How does it shoot?
How nicely does it cycle?
Is it picky on ammo?

Thinking about picking up the .22 version.

Are they really a grand?
>>

They are in Australia. That said your run of the mill nugget is about 500 if that's worth mentioning.
>>
>>33298923
Any good American manufacturers of these?
>>
>>33298923
I got the .22 boy scout centennial edition as a gift for eagle, but I never shoot it because of how nice it is.
>>
I've dicked around with a couple older versions of it. Both were in pieces for repairs because of parts breakage or jamming to the point it was immovable. I would hope QC has risen a good bit in recent years
>>
My dad bought one a few years back and he loves it. I have shot it quite a few times and enjoyed it. It was not super picky on the ammo and it cycles very well.
>>
>>33299591
Did you find reload drills easy? any way to do them quickly?
>>
>>33299741
Its a tube loading mag, so it can load pretty quickly if you're willing to put in the time to learn some tricks.
>>
>>33299130
no
>>33299142
wow that sucks. they are like $430 retail here

what the fuck is with that mark up?

I have had a great time with one of these.

They're accurate and really fun to shoot. The lever action just feels good. The tube mag can be a bit weird at first and you will wish it had a reloading gate every day of your life but once you're used to it it's not so bad. It can be a bit awkward though.

I've had afternoons where I put a couple hundred rounds through it in fairly quick succession (love that action and making brass fly) and surprisingly enough, guns get hot. This is a bit awkward if you're trying to reload some thing where you have to touch the barrel.

My bad. I'm referring to the Henry big boy in .357 but I reckon you'd have a similar experience in .22
>>
I have a .22 S/L/LR one. It's a great shooter but the firing pin is rather weak. Mine broke twice and every time I got a replacement part from Henry.
>>
I have the hex barrel carbine in 22lr and itsee one of the most fun guns I own. no parts breaking yet, and aperture sights are dope.

they are expensive for what they are in 22lr, but they make great plinking rifles. if you want to shot 300 rds in an hour, you'll need a 10/22 instead
>>
The Uberti Silverboy is a bit better, and around the same price range.

>Has anyone here got one of these?
2 of the blued version, his and hers.

>How does it shoot?
Like a dream. Very accurate, fun and satisfying.

>How nicely does it cycle?
Smoothest action I've ever encountered. You can BARELY feel a slight difference in closing on an empty chamber versus loading a round of you lose count.

>Is it picky on ammo?
HELL no. .22 Short, .22 Long, .22 Long Rifle, and any quirky subvarieties thereof (calibris, 60 gr "subsonic sniper," ratshot) load smoothly and reliably.

Only issue, like people mention, is that it's a tube mag; but my first .22 was a Marlin 60, so that feels normal to me. You get used to grabbing a handful of loose rounds and jiggling them into the pipe pretty quick.

The full length version holds 21 .22 shorts, so it's a blast to shoot without ears. Get a 24 pack of some store brand swill that's not fit for human consumption (Caffeine Free Diet Dr. Thunder, etc), set them out at 25 yards, don't bother with hearing protection (you won't be able to hear the gun go off, and might think you have a hangfire or something), and have fun.
