do people actually use anything else?

Not usually no. I clean and lube when I get back so it's always clean for the next trip. If I'm going to shoot more than 500 rounds through a single gun I'll bring whatever is lying around cause I'm just going to clean it out after anyway.

You know how I know you're stupid? You don't need lube for melons. They're very watery and have little friction.

its necessary if you're using an AR15.

If I need any I'll wipe some oil off the motor oil dipstick of the truck but I usually keep my guns lubed enough.

CLP, my friend used CLP on my mauser when the bolt got stuck from firing that shitty hot shot ammo, and it freed it up, so I've been using CLP since and I love it, though I do use hoppes as well, and used to have some remoil.

I don't take lube to the range, but if I did, it would be wheel bearing grease. Cheap and withstands high temps.
