Do you own an axe or a sledgehammer?
>>33294023
I own both.
Yessum.
Several of each, for every occasion!
>>33294023
Both. What kind of question is that? You don't do your own garden work?
why?
>>33294023
Yes? It's double headed so it's basically a decoration
>>33294202
Double bit axes actually have a purpose.
You file one edge narrow and very sharp for chopping and the other edge at a steeper, more chisel-like angle and use it for work down near the ground where you might hit a rock or something
>>33294023
Of course, both will turn 100 in two years. Who doesn't?
>>33294023
Both. Made 'em myself. Making another one tomorrow.
>>33294023
No, I am not a Muslim.
>>33294023
I own both (and much more) but believe me they're only tools, hardly weapons. Too big, too heavy. Choose pic related instead if you need something to defend yourself against a grizzly or something (assuming you're not a manlet and have huge balls).
>>33294202
>Double-bit ax
>Non-functional
U wot m8
The only reason single-bits are better for cutting trees is you can use a single-bit to pound wedges AND cut the tree.
A double-bit is objectively a better cutting tool, as per >>33294377
>>33294562
Even a small grizz would have your head separate from your body by the time you got close enough to use that thing
>>33294023
Nope, I've got a flanged mace.
>>33294023
Yes. Gransfors Bruk felling axe and Fiskars X11 for splitting.
>>33295716
>>33295655
Not if you separate its paw from its body fast enough... And you can't do that with an axe. Anyway you're fucked in most case in face of a grizzly without a firearm, that's why I stated "don't be a manlet and have huge balls".
>>33295716
What will you take?
>>33296112
for what kind of scenario?
>>33296154
The Saracens are still in power, and your King is seeking political glory.
>>33294202
If you only own one axe it should probably be a double bit. Not great at one thing but good at everything.
>>33294023
I own a cheap little hand axe for clearing brush in the yard. I keep it in my car in case I ever get stuck in the middle of nowhere while it's cold and have to build a fire.
>>33294023
Silly question...who doesn't?
>>33296428
urbanites
Does a set of irons count?
Why should I own one of those?
>>33296079
why are you acting like you speak from experience.
>>33294023
i bought a couple of pic related to save for the coming trade war. need to stock up on diva cups now i'm going to make bank
>>33294377
Or in the alternate you simply have to stop to sharpen your axe less often.
>>33294031
I hope you don't own dogs...
I own a FUBAR
>>33294023
Yes.
Just like any man should.
>>33294377
Even if both have the same edge geometry you can cut twice as long without rehoning your edge.
>>33294562
In a fight against any living creature why would you give up your stabbing ability for a pull stroke?
The stab is way more effective than anything you're going to do with this blade on a moving target, especially anything large.
Get something with a gut hook on it if you want to tear on the pull stroke, but don't give up your stab and slash for a hook.
only got these.
i dont really have much wood to chop
>want to own and maintain quality tools, care for them lovingly and display proudly in a clean garage
>don't actually know what to build and nothing needs handyman work
life is suffering
Uh yeah a axe, but axes r shit in comparison to a black buster which id essentially a axe built like a sledgehammer
No one actually used axes as weapons, at least not effectively.
Pierces armor worse than a warhammer spike, and doesn't have the reach of a spear.
As a sidearm, I don't know why anyone would take one (except out of desperation) over a mace. Even a sword gives you better reach, and penetrates maille better.
>sledgehammers
what is this, a chain-gang?
pic related would be a better weapon, because it weight a hell of a lot less and is just as, if not more, efficient.
Been playing a lot of for honor so now I want a poleaxe.
Goddamn, that sledgehammer looks EXACTLY like the one in contagion. I wish that game had more realistic gun handling. I love to play it because I love protecting Jessica from the zombies,I started to have feelings for her after about 100 hours in the game and in the time since my attraction toward her has grown stronger and stronger. When I wake up I am often cuddling my pillow and in the space between wake and sleep I imagine we are lovers, surviving together, relying on each other, with her curling against my chest for safety like no other woman ever has or ever will. I imagine her warm skin against mine, just feeling that soft tenseness of human flesh. I want her so badly, not even sexually, just for some intimate companionship for the first time in my life. I am terrified of real women but Jessica seems like a dream. I often fantasize about dying to save her, sacrificing myself to lead away a horde of zombies so that she can make it to the helicopter with the cure. Finally I met a girl who will plat as her so I don't have to hear a man's voice talking on the mic and ruin my fantasy. One time I told those guys to get off the server and fuck off but when they asked why I explained how I am 26 year old virgin and I love Jessica and the man playing as her was ruining it for me. Then they all laughed at me and I ended up having to quit the server after throwing a grenade at them in anger.

Your pic is the stupidest weapon I've ever seen.
>>33299891
If it is stupid
but it works
it is not stupid
unfortunately westerner is stupid
>>33296161
Vult, I'd Deus it.
>>33294023
why not just get a maul
>>33299016
nice blog fag
>>33299917
if it works worse than a multitude of other options then it's stupid
>>33300110
what do you do when you want to hit the axe with the sledge hammer?
>>33300392
If you are stronk you never have that come up.
>>33300392
why would you need to do that when your hammer is already on your axe
>>33297042
You ever look at it and just want to kill someone with it?
>>33300392
break out the rock hammer to liberate the maul
>>33300392
get two of them
>>33294023
1 5 lb maul, 1 cheapo double bit, a couple single bit axes about 2, 2.5 lbs each, a few hatchets, a 3 lb sledge, a 5 lb sledge, and a 10 lb posting mallet. All that plus various bills, machetes, club hammers, pickaxes and other shit. Kinda useful to have around the farm when the chainsaws are being stubborn pieces of shit. Plus, some days you just want to use em instead.
>>33294023
People don't own an axe and a sledgehammer?
>>33297148
>why would you give up your stabbing ability for a pull stroke?
Because I don't own stabbing tools (except knives of course).
Also, this tool can pierce a skull, which is way harder to achieve with a stabbing move.
>>33300110
This
Maul-Axes combine the best of both worlds.
>>33301680
>>33300110
Mauls are meant to split wood. Yes they can be used as Sledge hammers, but they are absolutely horrible at being axes.
First off, they don't bite, you might as well try cross cutting with a sledge hammer. Actual quality axes are a lot sharper and thinner than people think.
Secondly, they are way too heavy. a proper maul is like 7Lb. Even a heavy double bit felling axe is like 5 1/2Lb at most. I'm most comfortable carrying a 2 1/2 Hudson bay axe for most my work. You are going to tire out almost instantly trying to cross cut with a maul.
There is a reason multiple variations of the Ax exist, and most woodsmen specifically use and own many of them, each for it's intended purpose.
>>33303743
real damn good at ripping up driveways and any kind of masonry.
axe head splits the asphalt, weight and concussion of the blow shakes the layers enough to split it from whatever driveway was under it
..i was basically a labor slave mexican for a couple years
>>33303809
I don't see why you would not use a pickaxe, kind of what it's designed for. And I would imagine it would transfer a heck of a lot less shock to the handle. Not to mention, the Splitting maul is just soo heavy. I've beat up rocks with a pick axe before, it's exhausting work, I can only imagine how bad it would be with a maul.
>>33303897
Gets it done faster, quicker. a pick require more striking and picking up- just break the driveway asphalt into big lumps and haul those away
>>33296556
yes welcome FF bro
>>33300406
Tell me that when you are splitting Elm
