has they ever made a gun that shoots nuclear bullets?
not the bullet is a nuclear bomb but the nuke is the propellant for the bullet?
i bet you could kill a tank with a nuclear hand gun

Soviets did.
As far as i know they could seriously damage a tank, but were hard to store
>>33290859
Just don't put it in a Glock.
>shoot nuclear bullet out of brand new glock
>third impact

What the fuck am I looking at.
Damnit /k/, its not even 7am yet and im mad.

Well, they came up with a design for it and made some initial prototypes. But it tended to damage the shooter as much as the target. The big issue there was that the weapons were too expensive to keep blowing up. That's about the time they came up with the RPG-7, which was cheaper and could just be dusted off and handed to a new conscript if the old one died.

Yes.
Thunder well.
The only way to use a nuke as propellant is to have the barrel be literally a hole in the ground. Bullet speed was estimated to be 41 miles per second at minimum (they could barely track it at all)
Also considered to be the only weapon constructed by mankind so far that could actually stand a chance of damaging an invading UFO
>>33290961
They couldn't actually track the "bullet" (a mahole cover). It's only a guess that it was traveling that fast, based on a single frame of slow motion video. It's equally possible that the projectile was just destroyed between frames.

Isn't this basically the concept of the cassava cake howitzers on that space battleship we were thinking of making?
>>33290944
We were still test firing nukes into the 1990's?
Holy Fuck, I never knew this.
Space ships powered by nuclear bombs are pretty much the only current viable means of interstellar travel.
>>33291014
The French were setting them off into 1996.
>>33290859
its called nuclear immunization, retard.
>>33291095
>nuclear immunization
Is that blowing yourself up with low yield nuclear weapons to built up an immunity to high yield weapons?
Why use a nuke to shoot bullet when you can use nuke to shoot laser?

What?
>>33290859
NO.
Fuck no.
Why aren't you in school?
>>33291046
A fission powered electric thruster would do better, lord knows how much energy would be wasted with bombs.
>>33290859
Yes they did

Anon..

He is right. If today world's leaders learn that Earth is fucked and they need to build a fucking spaceship RIGHT FUCKING NOW, they will build the fucking Orion.

Operation Plumbob.

It was probably just a cloud of plasma going 41m/sec.
Kek.

Technically, i mean very technically, yes.

Making it a spacecraft is the easy part, the hard part is making it an SSTO plane

Its been the only "realistic" spaceship that they've come up with to gotta go fast
giant space ship that shits nuclear bombs
it would be like WW3 levels of atmospheric radiation pollution on its way into orbit from the surface of the planet though
