I can't think of any reason NOT to get that, but there are plenty of reasons to get something else instead.

If you're using it for cc too though, go for it.

If you're dead set on a pistol for home defense you should go with something full sized. Maybe even consider a revolver.
>>
>>33278587
Okay, if you're going to get a PM9 for cc, why not get a Glock 19 for home defense? That way you could share ammo between them.

I thought about a revolver but I like the idea of high capacity over brute force incase more than one person, etc.

You can get penetrator rounds for 9mm. You can also get +p ammo if you want to match the 357sig. At 124g for sig and +p 9mm, they're almost exactly the same.

Slightly increased barrel length and more weight for recoil reduction. Better off with a steel framed pistol though the weight will really take out a lot of the recoil.

Actually, OP, scratch that. .357 sig is pretty much always going to have more oomph that 9mm. You can try to compensate with +p or +p+ rounds, but you're always going to be chasing .357 with 9mm.

So I take it back. If sharing ammo with your PM9 isn't a factor, then I guess go for it.

i would prolly take the .357 snubbie its more realistic to to worry about hitting your target at all not ballistic effectiveness, and indoors HD i dont want to be swinging a full size rifle around. i mean i guess you have a point with capacity, but i also think it would be easier to wrestle an ar15 away from someone than a handgun maybe

not true... worst case - handgun it's 2 hands vs one, long gun it's 2 hands vs 2 hands... and you can muzzle strike, butt strike with the long gun pretty effectively in the grapple if you go do some bayonet drilling.

Its small so I could keep it in an easily accessible location. Its one handed operation so its ready to go instantly opposed to picking it up from against the wall, or whatever then aiming.

I have 2 air rifles so I know theyre not as quick to deploy as a handgun, albeit in the unlikely case that I get in a shootout where Im out gunned then I could see how it could be a problem, but Im sure as they heard the first shot theyd fucking run away.

You can do that with a rifle, it's called leaning against your bed. Just put it away in the morning if you're worried about leaving it out.

well if you are already buying another handgun, might as well diversify.

There's some nice shotguns out there for the same price or less than a glockenspiel, and shotguns are always fun.

Exactly, the risk of overpenetration is really low because of...oh, wait, were you using that as evidence that the AR WOULD overpenetrate? You're not aware of the actual, real-deal performance even FMJ .223 has against even drywall, and what it does compared to, say, 9mm? It's the exact opposite of what you think.
>>
>>33278903
Then get a fucking carbine you complete mongoloid, Jesus. An M4 is less than 30 inches with the stock collapses and will project out from you no further than a pistol is going to be after you have it out and ready. Or are you going room to room aiming from the hip/trying to into CAR like an utter sperg?
>>
Can someone other than fucking Glock make a striker fired polymer double stack 10mm please?
>>
>>33278508
Who's gonna defend you from it?
>>
>>33278508

If you like it you, find a good price on it, are comfortable with the price of ammo, and it works with your HD plan then you should. Here are some counter points.

The fullsize (Glock 31) will be a little easier to shoot and have more capacity. It might be better suited to HD since you won't need to conceal it.

.357 Sig is a fairly expensive caliber. Handgun calibers largely perform the same, so you might save some money buying a 9 or 40 and be able to find ammo in more places (and buy more ammo to practice with).

Depending on your home situation (lay out, other people in the house, etc) you might be better served with a rifle or shotgun. So weigh your options, war game it a little bit and come up with the answer you think is best.

It's probably just a statistical anomaly. I don't know the source of the graph, but if it's complied from crime data there could be some reason for it's effectiveness we aren't aware of, like smaller guns being easier to conceal and more likely to be used in close range hits.

Not saying that's the reason, but it's more likely than .32 being some magical problem solver. Whatever the reason .32 does well is probably the same reason .22 and .25 are even represented.
