Defeats the purpose. The Roland is supposed to be an enhanced Glock 19. It's still small enough to CC, and you can still fit it in a retention holster if you're going to use it as a duty type gun. A race gun is just too big for those types of things.
>>
>>33281686
Nothing about the Rowland OR the Glock 19 is concealable.

It's a stupid fucking concept put together by man-children.

This board should have fitness requirements to be able to post. ANYONE who claims they can CC a medium sized pistol, is an obese faggot.

>>
a compensator on a 9mm is dumb
Id rather it be shorter and easier to appendix carry, or have that length be barrel for extra velocity.

front slide serrations are fine, top slide serrations are silly

Id use a smaller light like the xc1 or the inforce light for carry.

I understand and like the concept of increasing the functionality of the handgun, but it's not for me

>>33282146
but the 19 is a 9mm

>>33282150
yeah it shoots flatter. 9mm already shoots pretty fucking flat. but it's a question of trade offs. you're taking your glock 19 and making it as long as a 34. is that worth while?

I try not to, but sometimes they say the dumbest shit.
>>33281937

>>
>>33282250
Length of the barrel isn't really a huge difference when you have an x300u, there's no light I find comparable. And besides the threaded barrel gives you the velocity similar to a 17.

The major thing is the 19 grip that makes it concealable.
>>

Compensator and surefire are on the wrong side to snag. The red dot could, but keeping clothes clear on the draw is a job for the offhand, and can be practiced beforehand.

Glock 17s kill people just fine without this extra bullshit.

>>
>>33281686
It damn sure isnt actually concealable once you add the flared magwell, 1.5" compensator, and +3 mag extension. It's physically larger in all dimensions than a G17 and just a cunthair shorter than a G34.

And any Glock based racegun will fit a retention holster as long as you use a slide mounted optic and not a frame mount.
>>
>>33282109
Having both together is dumb af, especially since the true Roland comp is top vented
>light so you can shoot in the dark
>fuckhuge top vented comp on a short barreled, relatively low pressure round so you neither get a significant benefit from the comp nor are able to see shit after the first shot in low light
>>
>>33282419
>the major thing is the 19 grip
Except you put a big fucking flared magwell on it then use mags with a +3 or +4 extension so they're longer than g17 mags and the whole thing is fatter in the most easily recognized and most likely to print part.
>>
>>33292344
The muzzle flash is quite a bit dimmer than the x300 spill
>>
>>33292386
Having shot a side-opening-only compensated G17 with an X300U on it, thats bullshit.
>>
>>33292344

One of the Roland Special's greatest perks is its performance under NODS LOL.

I was a big hater of the Roland Special until I actually saw one in person and shot a few. After that... I was fucking hooked.

Main thing though: learning to shoot with RDS takes a fairly extreme investment in skill. You basically need to be an A-class level USPSA shooter to do it easily.

Even "Jedi Master" Ken Hackathorn had to take 1000 rounds and weeks to transition from to Iron to Red Dot.

The world's best pistol shooter discusses the challenges of the transition and how to overcome it. Cliff Notes: become better.

>>
>>33281776

LOL. I'm 6'2", and 200 pounds. Maybe my 5'4" girlfriend can conceal it, but any man of decent fighting capability can conceal carry.

You, good sir, are clearly a little man child

https://www.instagram.com/p/BREvPQNjp30/
>>
>>33292106

Having a tiny window, so far away from your face actually makes shooting a red dot equipped pistol a lot harder, ironically.

For newbies, it also illustrates what the pistol is doing during a trigger pull. Makes em learn that much faster since with irons you have KNOW you pulled the trigger clean... the red dot will show you exactly how much you've failed.

Red dots aren't for everyone: the good ones are expensive (RMR and Delta Point are the only contenders... Shield from the UK possibly), and there is a ton of skill investment needed for them to pay off.

Gotta say though, if you do make the jump, it's fucking amazing. There's a reason only Open division allows electronic sights.
>>
>>33292503
>using a dot is haaaaard
No it isn't.
>>
>>33293006

Also, what does it say about Americans that this is what HK came up with as a pistol for us? They go out of their way to piint out it is made for the USA
>>
>>33298478
IKR, comp, RDS, so many doo hickies that it looks more like a service or field gun. Made the connection and it stayed there. seems much more appealing to me than a 9mm version, and a much better stab at an OHS revival imo.

Truf, I would have killed for the opportunity own a legit lam module at non-retardo prices. Nowadays when they pop up, they go for 1-2k.

A lot of OG commandos got kind of butt hurt that the "Roland Special" was named after "Roland" because the concept had been around for a lonnnnng time.

Some people just have an axe to grind with the recently retired war hero.

>Grip mounted pressure switch light
I can't find this for my USP45 and it is driving me up a fucking wall
>>
>>33278552
Did you build that grip out of lava rock?
>>
>>33300489

Grip mounted pressure light switches are great if you're doing assaults all the time.

The current SOP/solution of using just the mounted paddles is better IMHO. Allows you to be more selective with light discharge... in case you are being sneaky or under NODs.

The original Surefire "Delta Grip" is called that for a reason. Made sense for the median years of GWOT when it was hit after hit. Things have moved back into the shadows though.

If I draw my gun I want absolute control over the light being on or off instantly without taking my finger off the trigger or changing my grip.

enjoy NDing when you get an erection

which you are likely to get with such a sexy gun strapped to your dick
>>
>>33300471
There's nothing new under the sun.
There were probably Old West gunfighters who drilled holes in the ends of their barrels and mounted underbarrel candles or jars full of fireflies using twine or leather straps.
>>
>>33278552
Where can I get that slide and rmr?do they come together or is the any custom milling involved? Sorry newb here

Glad i'm not the only one that had this reaction
>>
>>33303271

You have to either get your slide milled, or buy a new slide that has the holes. ZEV makes replacement slides, and Lone Wolf Distributors will do the milling, among others.
