Sun doesn't die because tech innovation, not change in physical laws of the universe. Reactors are not rendered inoperable because fissile does not equal weapons-grade. Dude, threat of nuclear war is not what keeps major powers from fighting these days. It's trade. Now it's cheaper to get everything you want by trading for it than it is to fight and conquer, especially because conquering is generally frowned upon in the world community unlike say 80 years ago.
