There are ways to very lightly lighten it, but it's impossible to remove entirely.

Okay, it isn't as bad as it looks, but I do have a bit of a bigger issue. there are smudges on the lens that just won't come off. It isn't really a scratch in it, but more like a heavy dust has settled on the lens that won't come off.

It seems there was only a degree of standardization, with variations between individual jackets.

I don't know if it's easy to see but the chest pockets are actually for extra mags, managed to fit four AR 30 rounders in them. The third slot in them is very skinny, guessing for some sort of SMG mags or some other equipment.
>>
Pretty neat thing, way better quality than what I expected from the Bulgarians considering their wooden canteens and shitty veshmeshoks.
Has cuff adjusters for the sleeves and pant cuffs, two large outer hand "patch" pockets, and two small little button pockets in addition to the two chest mag pockets.

Thanks, it's not accurate at all though.
I should have the brown wool uniform underneath it, and the wool side cap, no photos I've seen have them wearing a helmet with the suit, just the side cap or a beret.

I used my Russian webbing with my Polish bayonet as a placeholder.
I'm not even sure which webbing should be used with it. I've seen the grey P58/UTV style ones being worn with the Splinter camo uniforms for regular infantry but all the frogskin photos seem to have them wearing the early stuff.

The grey webbing here was introduced in the 50's and the Frogskin camo didn't come around until around '68, so I'm slightly confused.
http://www.shopbulgaria.com/products/255/

In this pic you can see the old webbing, note the leather belt, wooden canteen and early AK bayonet, as well as the brown wool uniform.

Early mix is mostly some US and Eastern Bloc simple crap. Nothing fancy or exciting. But I already have some inventory on hand that I've just hoarded, and I've been going through that as well. Nothing terribly unique though.

Signing up for various wholesalers later in the week since I have my sales tax stuff now and plan on hitting one or two surplus wholesalers just because.

Not planning on carrying the standard fare and wares but if I can find some unique items, I'll probably buy a couple just so people have the opportunity to grab 'em.

This is more of a side-hobby for me as I transition between jobs. Gives me something to do.

I'm a gas mask fag that's wanting to get into more milsurp gear, are there any good sites that most anons frequent to find good shit, or is it more of a searching till you find a lucky listing?

Also, why don't I ever see any mention of the site Varusteleka, I've been looking at some of the gear there, and seriously, ever since I heard of this site from InRange, it makes me wonder just how stupidly high the prices for some of this would be if it were sold in the US. Are there any other companies like this one that are based in Europe? Some of this stuff seems too good desu.

Got a Belgian M64 from Varusteleka a couple months ago and have had some problems.

It arrived with a weird chemical smell that made my throat constrict to the point where breathing was difficult. After multiple washes, baking it in UV rays outside and a trip to the dry cleaner's, the smell still persists.

Any tips on how to get the smell out? I'm one step away from soaking it in bleach overnight out of frustration
>>
>>33310377
If the smell is bad I usually just spray a mist of white vinegar all over the garment and let it air out for a day or two. It usually works

>>
>>33309218
holy crap, what's the sizing like to us mil specifications?
>>
>>
Bag is actually fairly big when you open it up.
>>
The cover fits on the helmet by way of four sets of strings you simply tie to the liner/suspension of the helmet.
>>
Hand covers simply slide over your hands, one strap around your wrist, one around your palm, and one around your thumb, leaving your fingers free to do intricate stuff.

These ones are so old sadly the elastic is fully breaking apart and doesn't stretch anymore.
>>
There's only one actual pocket on the whole suit, the small single button one on the left chest.
The trousers have two pass-throughs, and the jacket has a straight button-flap pass-through that allows you to access your mag pouch, and the one to your left is even larger and is to allow you to quickly access the radio.
Button cuffs on jacket and trousers, trousers have button fly and drawstring waist.
Jacket is full button front, no collar as the helmet cover is intended to cover that area.

It looks slightly worse than normal on me because this one is a large, a "III".
You can see the right flap opened to access the mag pouch in this one.

The cover can get claustrophobic and the hand covers are kinda annoying but beyond that it's a pretty neat thing, just intended to be a simple lightweight oversuit you can carry around in the bag with you in case you might need it.

AFAIK these were issued to snipers and recon units, maybe sappers too.

hey guys first time poster here I usually just lurk the more /his/ tilted threads but I have a question.

I've recently acquired a US vest with most of the writing faded off, it's faded enough to be illegible and I've had problems identifying it but I'm 99% sure it's an "enhanced tactical load bearing vest"

anyway, my question is this: is there a a field pack or "backpack" like thing I can attach to it? I've tried wearing a backpack over it and it just does NOT seem practical, straps getting tangled and rubbing shoulders raw etc.

before you tell me yes I know I'm a retard
>>
>>33310377
I was gonna get one soon, I don't want a smelly jacket though.
>>
>>33312120
I would not suggest you try running with that whole rig.

good ambush or defensive though.

If you intend to be moving , crawling , RUNNING , get some webbing or a tactical vest for those magazines , also water.
>>
>>33312134
Thanks mate just ordered one.
>>
>>33312176

You can wear a ruck with it but that's mainly for marching.
In operations the only sort of pack you would wear with it would be the "training butt pack".
You attach an ALICE belt to the loops on the bottom and have your canteens and extra mag pouches on that along with the butt pack.
Sully would know most on them since he actually wore the things.

>>33312198

Yeah, from what I've read it's for snipers and observers, to conceal them as they watch.
During the wars the shelter halves were cannibalized into vests or to modify the oversuits into more practical clothing by adding more pockets on them/tailoring them and such, they got pretty creative.
The oversuits as they are have been drying up and the one I got was unissued, still with factory lot tag, so I intend on preserving it.
