Just shut your fucking mouth

t. I'm a recruiter

What if it's in your medical records
You can't lie
>>

>1. The fact you need to take meds makes you a liability both as a pog and on the field
>2. ADHD fellas are a pain in the ass to get them into attention and are also a pain in the ass in general
t. Aspie who had to deal with them, my brother and other aspie kids.
Best one can do is find a way to get better control of oneself like my brother did (He wasn't compatible with any of the meds, so he didn't worried about getting off of them) so you can get off the medications and join easily. Shit's hard, but if one doesn't get the willpower to do it, they'll won't be going anywhere

We can't pull your medical records... it's just a scare tactic. You have to sign a release and even then we can't search every fucking medical clinic if we don't know where you went. The recruiter won't try to find it and will tell you to shut your mouth. Meps is the one that will try to scare you. Trust me, there something wrong with just about everyone that goes to Meps, they only know if you tell them.

I have it. Been in for 8 years

Trick was getting off my meds and staying off. If you can do that, your fine. Scare tactic is right. Don't tell your recruiter, don't tell anyone at "moment of Truth" bullshit at boot camp. Just don't medicate
>>
Do you have to sign the release?
>>
I waited till I was in then self diagnosed. It hasn't effected clearance or anything really. Almost had a hard time getting a special assignment once, but I got past that since "I don't need the meds to function, since there were no complains for years before from my leadership". I guess it just matters how much you spaz you spaz.
>>
So if i dont sign the release, they cant search?
>>
>>33270972
If it got to the point of them forcing you to sign it it's already a huge red flag an they will just tell you to reschedule and never call you back. Like a shitty exgirlfriend with no head-game.
>>
What if i pose this as a hypothetical to my recuiter?
>>

What about V.A. stuff if your thinking of reenlisting?
>>
>>33271142
What? If you stay in obviously you don't need meds.

If you actually get something from the VA it'll be years after you're out.

>Is it possible to get a waiver at all?
not so much a waiver. I was in charge of a soldier that had ADHD, bad, like he got a scholarship to Louisiana State for it. Dropped out his 3rd year to join the army after 9/11. He had to go off his meds for like 6 months I think to show he could function without them. I was actually trying to get him to see a Army doctor or Div Mental Health to have him put back on them. Guy had the attention span of a mayfly
>Anon, go to the motor pool and do X
>walks out back of company office, stops to talk to someone
>bums a smoke, and talks with them
>finishes smoke and starts to walk towards the motor pool
>stops and stands there
>I can see it on his face as he stands there thinking. "What did Sgt Anon tell me to go do in the motor pool?"
the Army will put you on ADD/ADHD meds, the SSG incharge of our company maint team got put on meds kinda by accident. He and his wife went in to talk to some specialist about their sons ADD, and just by the way he was acting the doctor put him on meds too.

I've been out and am thinking of reenlisting. The va gave me some meds I dont think i should have even been on since the prescribing doctor literally was tyrone from africa.

...Well this is brand new information, I may try to enlist now.
