Post niche guns that would be useless for general duty. Target pistols, race guns, experimental test-beds, bench rest, specialized hunting (like big game).
Pictured is a S&W model 52, it's a 9mm S&W that the factory converted to a .38 Special, but it can only fire wadcutters since the dimensions are unchanged. It was for bullseye target shooting only. The goal was to replace .38 Special WC revolvers, the only real advantage over a target revolver being that it can cock itself with the slide, giving a single action trigger pull each time without having to manually pull back the hammer.
They are mechanically excellent guns, every moving part having been tuned by S&W's Performance Center. While production was never high, they were made from 1961 to 1993 because a cult following demanded a small but regular supply of guns and parts. Production only ended because the tooling wore out.

That fucking GIF is a masterpiece.
>>33267300
Actually the 52 wasn't a conversion, it had a full set of tooling and all, and it actually went out of production because the tooling broke and there wasn't enough demand for the 52's to get it fixed

My Baikal IZH-35M. A russian prestige project to win the ISSF Rapid Fire discipline.
Mine was imported to Germany, tuned by Walther, then imported to Norway.
I think this belongs here.
The Sola pistol. It's niche as far as I can tell is that some Swiss madman wanted a toggle action .357 Magnum...so he made one.

But anon
Sometimes you DO need the power of BRRRP!

High quality, purpose-made precision firearms always have a special place in my heart.
>>33269749
And along those lines, I'm also a fan of firearms intended to simply be the best at whatever particular goals are set by the designer.
Having a pistol with a ridiculously high bullet velocity and down-range energy and accuracy is pretty cool, but also niche as fuck.
>>33269754
Even though the Mateba Unica gets plenty of well-deserved attention, the MTR-8 is also a very cool looking, unique design.
>>33269731
The Swiss loved their fucking toggles, man.
They bought Lugers in the early 1900s and then shit spiraled from there.
>>33269754
How high velocity and energy are we talking about? I always see this gat and I love not that far off the place it's being developed, but it doesn't get much publicity here.
>>33267300
I kinda want one.
The Sig P240 in the same calibre is interesting as well.

If I ever get rich...

I have one of those. Interesting gun, but I usually stick to a Model 41.
Fired one before
Its a dream to shoot, handled well. Recoiled very little.
Unfortunately I'm left handed though so the grip was annoying.

This article seems to have some good numbers on it, but as far as I know there isn't any verified ballistic data yet.

If it's pushing a .30 caliber bullet at 5.7x28mm velocities like Brno claims, then I'd say it's a pretty potent cartridge.

as far as I've understood the janz revolvers arent forged, so manurhins and korths are most likely stronger.
the finish and tolerances on the other hand

you know its true
AAI QSPR (Quiet Special Purpose Revolver)
Designed for tunnel rats to use during the Vietnam War. The small tunnels barely big enough for Viet Cong made gunshots nearly deafening. Traditional silencers didn't work very well since they threw off the balance of the gun (since the guns was often in one hand as a flashlight or lantern was in the other) and made the gun harder to maneuver in the tight confines of the tunnel.
Enter the QSPR. It was made from a cut down Smith & Wesson M29. It had not sights and a range of only 30 feet, but who needs sights or range in a tiny tunnel? It fired a special round that consisted of fifteen 7.5 grain tungsten steel pellets in a plastic sabot that used a gas seal/piston to reduce its firing noise.
It wasn't really that lethal even at the ranges it was designed for. I've read that some special forces guys liked it for taking prisoners.
Not that many were made (some sources say 10, some say 75) and the QSPR went the way of the dodo. It's basically unobtanium, with the ammo being destroyed and the gun checking a bunch of ATF dog-shooting boxes.
I want one. Closest I'll probably get is putting M29 grips on a S&W Governor.

Is that real? I thought someone photoshopped it at first...

So buy one. Several companies make them

Well shit, I didn't need to know that existed. Now I'm just imagining a stainless luger

Nothing a ballistics calculator can't handle. That being said, an EAA hunter with a 9x25 barrel and doubletap 95gr ammo is still less retarded

Might as well post any automag pistol, this, LAR Grizzly, AMT, Desert Eagle, Coonan, any of them
They work great for handgun sihouette shooting and hunting, but memes aside they're all too big and unwieldy for much else.
