I am looking for my first long gun and have it narrowed down to SKS in a tacticool stock (either the bullpup or something with collapsing stock and rails) a wasr or npap with tacticool stock, or a vz2008. I want the VZ but adding a side mounted optic rail is hard.
I don't want a AR, I carried a M16A4 for five year (albeit POG) and I'm bored of that round.
any advice/suggestions?
What round do you want to shoot, how much are you willing to spend, and what platform do you want to shoot that round in?

Are you in Canada?

7.62x39
$6-700 before accessory's
idk what platform. I was told AR15s in 7.62 are unreliable

nope, VA

Well, if you want one, don't get a fucking meme bullpup.
I'd say get a WASR or the VZ2008. Ask in /akg/ about WASR's and NPAP's.

I know it's dumb but for some reason I want it. Any real reason I'll regret getting it?

Because of a shitty mushy bullpup trigger? Because it's an SKS abortion?
Look, if you think you want it at least try to find a gun you can shoot before you decide you want something that is likely over-priced and shitty.

I feel like finding one I could shoot would be next to impossible.

REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Yeah, I know. If you must have an SKS get one in a wood stock or you can go with some crapco tacticool stock, but I really don't think getting a bullpup config is a great idea for your first long gun.
No, it's very solid. My paratrooper without the Eotech is 10 lbs.
Nicely built and the trigger bar is not spongey, but heavy overall.
