the post
>>33263394
For a weaker action and less available parts/repair. So now that the 10 gauge is out anything of value in the thread or is this needing sage
Some fuckstupid strong revolver.
>>33263551
460? I guess for me my ruger #1 in 45-70....... or 300 win mag either way load the powder fit to pop the primer loose after firing (rip shoulder)
>>33263394
>>33263538
Way to be practical in a thread about hunting imaginary monsters guys
>>33263740
10 gauge was a bad start and really took the fun out of it
>>33263362
The answer to dino threads, cryptid threads, alium threads, time travel threads and uninhabited planet threads is always the same. Mauser sporter in .375 H&H.
>>33263740
>imaginary monsters
So you think they definitely do not exist?
>>33263775
Yup.
>>33263362
My mauser. The germans were into the occult, maybe a k98 is just inherently good at killing cryptids and occult stuff. Also 8mm soft point is breddy gud at killing stuff dead.
>>33263740
Its fun to pretend.

Then you admit you're closed minded?
>>33263883
Aren't you a big guy?
>>33264002
For you maybe. In reality average height and weight and I shit you not ruger only loads take fun out of shooting (well some of it out)
>>33263362
I think stopping rifles have a very good reputation of knocking down some pretty insane beasts, so that'd be my primary carry. Hard to find them above .50 caliber, though; not sure if a .416 rigby would pack the punch of a .700NE.
As for a handgun, S&W500 with a midlength (6"-7.5") barrel.

Don't you have to go try to convince people that the Earth if flat or something?

The very definition of closed minded

Nugget, or shotgun with slugs.
>guns that I want
Marlin 1895SBL in .45-70 (the very fanciest slugs are basically saboted .45-70 FTX bullets out of a smooth bore)
.44mag or larger revolver with fuck-you loads
Barrett M82A2

I wouldn't worry about it.
Blessed silver tip 45-70

This.
.308 semi-auto.
My grandpa's old single shot 12 gauge that I bubba'd a little. The tape on the grip has always been there, I just put new tape on it.

Depends frankly on what kind of cryptid.
There's shit loads of marine (including megafauna IMO) and insect life left to be discovered.
As for a 7ft bipedal ape running around in BC, it's not a matter of being closed minded, it's that we have this place on 24hr surveillance. Not one trail cam picture that wasn't bullshit; no tracks, no scat, no bones. It'd have to move exclusively in trees, eat meat w/o ever pursuing opportune prey (or hibernate) and bury its scat.
>>33269041
That's why the only answer is something of human intelligence or greater that wishes to remain undiscovered.
>>33268085
>a lil bubba'd
Uuuuuuh. I love single shots but this looks bad, anon. Get some wire and snips, replace the barrel tape with wire if its so loose. Duct tape gotta go though, looks real trashy. Electrical tape looks fine for grips though, looks like the old improvised grips on snubbies.
Love the gun though. My dad got me a single shot 12 when i first got into firearms and its still my favorite to shoot.
I spend too much time fantasizing about this stuff.
My primary would be an SMLE Mk.III with the magazine cutoff so I can single load specialty ammo as required. I might have it converted to .308 for access to more ammo types. There's really no practical advantage in going with an antique gun, but the concept of hunting monsters with an SMLE just feels so right for some reason.
Secondary would be a PDW with a high rate of fire and a cartridge with good AP characteristics. I'm undecided whether an SBR AR, a true PDW like an MP7 or P90, or a 9MM SMG would be the best choice.
Tertiary would be a large caliber revolver. I really want to say I'd go with a .454 Mateba just because it'd be badass but an S&W500 does the same thing and is more reliable.
A tattered cloak and a cool hat are also obligatory.
>>33263740
>totally not a cryptid
>>33268973
>not .45-110
Lever-action, breach-loader. Usual barrel length's thirty inches. This one has an extra four. It's converted to use a special forty-five caliber, hundred-and-ten-grain metal cartridge, with a five-hundred-forty-grain paper patch bullet. It's fitted with double-set triggers, and a Vernier sight, marked up to twelve-hundred yards. This one shoots a mite further.

Being hyper intelligent wouldn't make it invisible, other make it possible to cover it's tracks. It'd still need food and water.
We already have gigantic stealthy primates, mountain gorillas. They have a bunch of physical adaptations that help them remain undetected relative to what samsquanch is purported to be. Still, people track, find and study them.
>>33263740
Nice try, skinwalkingcunt.
>>33271145
You're making me want to go buy a SMLE. My LGS has two Enfields on the shelf.
>>33263362
I feel like someone needs to post that one anons free text about old guns vs cryptids.
And on that note I'd bring my Webley Mk VI and my Gewehr 1888 (the only guns I have that have been fired in anger)

180gr going 1800fps out of a 6" barrel.
Frame will probably crack and barrel split if you shot more than a few magazines.
