I don't see this talked about on here. Is it (or the fn9) used by any militaries or Leo? Is it reliable? How's the warranty?

>>33262445
Wasn't their something specifically wrong with that pistol?
>>
>>33261922
Great pistol, probably the best 45 on the market dollar for dollar. But this thread will not have any actual discussion.
>>
I have the tactical version.
-15+1 rounds of .45 ACP
-extremely reliable
-threaded barrel
-optic milled
-rail
-great trigger
This thing sells itself
>>
>>33261922
I have a 1st Gen FNP 45 it's literally my favorite gun, I cc that big bitch sometimes.
>>
>>33262453
I believe owner forgot it outside in the Texas sun for a day or so like a nigger but it was still considered factory fluke. I've never heard of another case of it.
>>
>>33262465
>great trigger
Lol no. Everything else is true but the trigger is shitty.
>>
>>33262453
>>33262527
It was 104 out and it sat on the table in the sun for ~2 hours. Totally unacceptable in my opinion but my standards for reliability are very high.
>>
>>33262462
Do any militaries or leo agencies use it? What kind of operational experience has this thing seen?
>>
>>33262453
Bad batch of polymer in addition to being in 100+F all day. FN replaced it and the next one was fine

There is still no FNX-9 tactical

does FN hate us
>>
>>33262575
How do you deploy the rear sight on that rifle?
>>
I already have one paid for and waiting for me for when NY allows me to own a handgun. Althought I got the 9mm version becuase its way cheaper to shoot.
>>
>>33262539
Double action it's heavy
Single action it's pretty fucking nice
>>
>>33262591

If you're deploying the rear sight it's because your optic has died. The optic is on a quick detach mount, so you would quickly detach it and then you would have room to flip up the rear sight.
>>
>>33262560
Fuck if I know, there are thousands of LEO agencies out there. What does that matter?
>>
>>33262630
That isn't something I'd want to go through mid firefight
>>
>>33262539
Have you even fired it SA?
>>
>>33262636
Because a gaggle of police officers and soldiers using a weapon in the field is a good test of a firearm
>>
>>33262636
I'm with this asshole. Why dies that matter? LEOs and agencies don't pick the best of the best. They usually go with the best deal they can find. That's how so many of them ended up with Glocks during a time when Glocks were known to randomly detonate and blow off fingers. Glock was arming agencies with new duty pistols for $25 each. Glock risked suffering major losses and it paid off in the end for them. The people who actually USE the guns aren't usually the ones who choose their duty weapon. Their accountants do that.

What's better fnx45 or fnx9?

Not gonna lie, 15 rounds of 45 stronk sounds compelling
>>
>>33262737
One guy on here ran something like 15,000 rounds through his FN and it bricked. They told him not sending it in to them regularly for service voided his warranty. I'd avoid the whole company.
>>
>>33262755
Sounds like a problem on his end
>>
>>33262753
If you're going to suppress it 45 might be better
>>
>>33262755
When will you stop?
>>
>>33262809
OCD is a trrrible affliction
>>
>>33262809
Lol is that the same guy that's been shitting on FN because he broke his gun?
>>
>>33262730
Many many times. The trigger sucks man. It's alright for a service pistol, but that's a low standard.
>>33262737
Police don't use their guns, they carry them. So LEO adoption doesn't say much outside of budgetary concerns. Whereas military procurement is built around entirely different things. So that's not a good test of anything either.
>>
>>33262809
I'm actually a totally different person that just hates this bullshit. FN is pulling the same exact crap Colt did, it's the curse of the contract.
>>
>>33262830
Yeah, he's like on a cocaine and energy drinks rampage going on every thread to spread his autism
>>
>>33263016
I'm not, I may have started the fire over on p-f but other anons are the ones fanning the flames and spreading it here. At this point I'm just responding to stuff people ask about the ordeal.
>>
>>33263016
I'm actually just trying to stay awake so I can hit the range in a couple hours, night shift is a bitch.

And I still can't believe you toolbags are okay with a company selling you a lifetime warranty and then AFTER you get the gun you find out in the ass end of the manual you have to pay to get it checked every couple of months or they can just ignore you when shit breaks.

>Not the actual owner of the gun BTW, just a bored anon baffled by how many people are okay with that and are playing the shifty company as the victim
>>
>>33263080
I don't even think about warranties, I don't know why you need a crutch this badly. I work on my own pistols, it's not terribly difficult. People aren't being apologists, they just don't care about warranties anon.
>>
>>33263224
FNH doesn't give out parts bro
>>
>>33263224
I void all of my warranties within days of getting new guns, I totally agree with you on that. The issue is that going that far to build an out into your warranty is a huge red flag.

this reminds me of that dude on whatever forum it was who was sperging out on Ice Arms over a BCG that didn't get delivered or whatever and the guy was like "dey stealing my monies wtf i'm so fucking pissed" and ended up driving a couple hours to the owners house to demand his $115 back. was taking selfies the whole time. anyone remember that episode?

>>33262591
>>33262727
How new to guns are you?
>>
>>33263272
Except this is nothing like that? This guy is way too sperg to interact with people in person.

>Oh, and this company is legitimately trash for civilian customers
>>
>>33262727
You probably don't want your optic to die mid firefight either yet here you find yourself.

I own an FNX45.

Pros:
-It's cool
-It's reliable
-RMR plate from the factory
-Threaded barrel from factory
-muh 45 double stack

Cons:
-It's fucking huge.
-It's expensive
-For a $1,000 gun the trigger is meh

While you could certainly use it as a bedside gun, it really is just a fun range toy. Buy it if you have the money and want something neat, skip if you want something serious.

Don't have the 9mm version or an FNS. Supposedly FNS is a good gun at a good price.
>>
>>33263353
Hey, I have a serious question, does the hammer fired line have the same 2k service interval as the striker fired guns? They seem better built and I'd be curious about the way FN treats them.

>>
>>33263302
New? Because I can recognize an inferior setup?
>>
>>33263393
had to open the manual to check, but yeah, says every 2K rounds to send it in for a checkup. Dunno if I ever will though.
>>
>>33263353
That's an Fnx tactical right? Isn't the fnx45 much cheaper?
>>
>>33263572
Why not just lie about your round count?
>>
>>33263557
If it fails on you in the middle of a gunfight you can use the backup irons on top of the optic. Then afterwards it takes seconds to take it off and flip up your backups.

It's not a big deal
>>
>>33263588
They can just say their super secret particle scope micro beam says otherwise, and fuck you they're not honoring the warranty. That's the whole fucking point of that paragraph, to get out of the warranty you paid for.

>>33263572
Every 2k OR every 12 months, you have a conditional 1 year warranty
>>
>>33263632
Ok so basically the gun has a 1 year warranty. What's the outrage about? Was your perception of a lifetime warranty really why you got it? Why not get a hi-point then, friend?
>>
>>33263652
>Company pulls bait and switch that implies the gun is probably of questionable quality
>Just get a hi-point! Geeze!

You. Are. A. Tool.
>>

>>
>>33263724
Is it a bait and switch if you can't be bothered to read the warranty?
>>
>>33263576
The plain FNX 45 is about $600. If you aren't going to suppress it, don't get the tactical.
>>
>>33263652
Lol dumbass. Even hi point has a lifetime warranty.

Fn is playing all you tools
>>
>>33263771
The conditions are in the back of the user manual, not the warranty, it's like they hope you don't see it until you break something, crazy isn't it.

>>33263859
Don't even try, they're good little consumers that will side against you.
>>
>>33261922
It looks fuckin sweet but that's really all I know about it.
>>
>>33263611
Can you? It kind of looked like the scope was over the flip up iron sights in the picture. Not the same anon you're responding to btw.
>>
>>33262575
Fucking this

I am in the throws of deciding on a supressor host (can is already in jail) and I'm having some trouble.

The fnx tactical has everything I want for a host except not being a 9mm. So I'm stuck with an HK Fuck USP 9 T.

The scope is in the way of flip ups, but there is a set of tiny back up sights on top of the scope. You just use these until you have time to take off the faulty scope and use your flip up sights

i void warranties.
>>
>>33263080
well, we're not 12 years old. adults know enough to read the fine print.

warranties have terms. don't abide by them? then you're no longer covered. only an angsty teen like yourself gets all buttblasted over it.
>>
>>33263724
you dont know anything about anything. that situation in no way fits the definition of "bait and switch."

you were just too stupid to read the paperwork. admit it then get on with your life so we can get on with ours.

all the best lessons in life either hurt us or cost us money. growing up is sometimes a painful process, son. but you're young, you'll get over it.
>>
>>33262806
45 suppressed is twice as loud as 9mn suppressed senpai.
