https://www.nytimes.com/2017/03/09/world/asia/radioactive-boars-in-fukushima-thwart-residents-plans-to-return-home.html
>They descend on towns and villages, plundering crops and rampaging through homes. They occasionally attack humans. But perhaps most dangerous of all, the marauders carry with them highly radioactive material.
>Hundreds of toxic wild boars have been roaming across northern Japan, where the meltdown of the Fukushima nuclear plant six years ago forced thousands of residents to desert their homes, pets and livestock.
>Local authorities in towns across Fukushima have hired teams of hunters to cull the boars. It is unclear whether those efforts will pay off, or whether they’re enough to persuade former residents to return home.
>Authorities in the town of Tomioka say they’ve killed 800 so far, but officials there say that’s not enough, according to Japanese media. The latest statistics show that in the three years since 2011, the number of boars killed in hunts has grown to 13,000 from 3,000.
It bothers me that I will never be inna Japanese Zone hunting down radioactive feral boars in order to reclaim lost towns.

It's the dream.

They've got a shitload of American boys not far away who they could pay to kill those boars even more efficiently.

Images like this kinda make me wish I still played videogames.
>>
>>33253213
Well, you better do your research.
Today's market is getting to be mostly a bunch of lazily cobbled together open world time wasters with shit gameplay because they've convinced these kids that 60+ raw hours of shit game play is better than 8hrs of competently made game with actual interesting environments etc.
>>
I tried to find how their paid, a contract or a per head basis but I couldn't find any info.

inb4 move to Japan and become a radioactive boar Hunter.

Maybe 1/10,000 mutated in a beneficial way, an uber-boar shrugging of bullets as it gores innocent people while rampaging towards a school field trip group.
>>
>>33253253
New Doom was fun.
>>
I don't see why they even need to pay to have this done. Half of /k/ would pay their own expenses to be able to go clear out the zone and maybe get some japanese poon folded over 1000x times.
>>
>>33253303
Holy shit yeah. A jewel among shit though. Sad that it's more of the exception, and not the norm.

Wow, combine that with the fact that Japanese hunters are almost non existent now compared to 20 or 30 years ago and they might have some really bad pest problems.

While the total number of licensed hunters dropped steeply after hitting a high of 518,000 in 1975, the number has stayed relatively steady since reaching 210,000 in 2000. In 2011, for example, the figure was 198,000, according to figures compiled by the Ministry of the Environment.

Meanwhile, 66 percent of those, or 131,000, are over 60 years old. It doesn’t take a statistician to work out that the situation will reach crisis levels as more elderly retire their guns. Unfortunately, this is occurring at a time when agricultural damage is skyrocketing.

Yea, I used to do it in college. Got paid $10 a head coyote or boar and got to keep the meat.

It was worth it to him because they'd kill lifestock, destroy crops, etc.

For every $10 he paid me, he probably saved a potential $50-100 in damages from occurring.

Most of the hunting would be accomplished with traps. I doubt a jap with an air rifle an do much if he's just chasing after the boars.
>>
>>33267310

I don't think a chick with a dick is really going to help much in this situation anon, unless it was heavily armed and adequately trained
>>
>>33267625

the traps are for boosting morale
>>
Why won't they just setup a huge barb wire fence around the area?

Just let the boars there in piece. Just imagine in 100 years their evolution creates the a boar with the intelligence of a human.
>>
>>33269810

Anon life isn't /co/.
>>
>>33253311
I was thinking the same thing.

The government there could make bank selling post-apocalyptic zone hunting safaris to foreigners.

>>33267310
Guns are legal in Japan, as is hunting with them. They're heavily regulated and the paperwork is a pain in the ass, and you can only get stuff like shotguns and bolt-action rifles, but it's still not that big of a deal, especially if you live in a rural area.
>>
So you want to become a boar hunter and remove oink in Japan? Well, fear no more /k/omrades, while their laws are Orweillian and oppressive to firearm owners in general, you can still get sporting firearms in the area (It might even be easier for you if you are the police or military). Calculating the total costs (1¥= $0.0087 USD) of the process it can range in $581.21 to $589.92.

Keep in mind, you can get through this if you're not a poorfag (Which, let's be real, they most likely can't afford living in Japan) and also not a sperg. You must also be able to learn the culture and learn how to get along with the neighbors, so they can (hopefully) help you out in the process of getting a firearm permit, and buying one. You must also learn how to get along with the locals, farmers, land owners, gun shop and range owners. This is so you can maintain a positive reputation when the police interviews them, hunt in their lands to remove pests, easily buy from the firearm shop, and not have a disruptive experience in their range. Have this in mind, you have to make sure which police station is willing to hand out permits to successful candidates, as there has been many which denied it to them despite being a 100% viable candidate that passed the process
>>
>>33263204
I mean, it was their main service weapon after we finished occupying and rebuilding their forces
>>
>>33271212

>$581.21 to $589.92
Well, it's cheaper than Australia.
>>
>>33271209
>you can only get stuff like shotguns and bolt-action rifles

you can only apply to own a rifle after so many years of owning a shotgun and actually being allowed to own a rifle basically never happens unless you're very rich and have connections
>>
Wait, so they can go hunt nuclear pigs? Awesome.
>>
>>33253015

Import some Texans. Pay their trips there, and let them bring their own weapons. Boars would be totally gone in a few weeks.
