Having shot the SCAR somewhat extensively, I am quite fond of it. I think its an excellent rifle and I want to buy my own. The $3.4k price tag is somewhat of putting, and I am just not sure if the premium is worth is over an AR-10.
Also, I've only shot military issue, but I would hope the civilian version is mostly the same.
Is the SCAR worth it?
I like mine. Got it for $2800.

Used?
Have you considered any optics?
>>33252054
No brand new. They used to be $2500. Price has been steadily going up. May get a Trijicon Acog in the future. For now irons are fine for 50-200 yards.

Also I'm assuming you are .mil since you shot military issued. FN has military pricing. Check it out.

>Over $2k
>Not sub-MOA
lol
I don't know where you're getting $3,400, I've only once come across a 17S for >$3,000. Maybe the SCAR you're looking at has some modifications? You can buy them all day for $2,800-$2,900.
>>33252013
>3400 USD
Holy fuck. How much is an SR-25 in America?
>>33252149
>$4,000
They're extremely expensive.
>>33252114
Ok, I found the military pricing, that makes it a little more affordable. I shot the FN SCAR-H TPR, its a more accurate version, and it was superb, but sadly I can't buy it as a civilian.
>>33252144
The price is from FN's website and a few minutes on gunbroker
I think the extra cost will be worth it over its competitors
>>33252149
3.4k would have been a steal in CA before the new year. Going price was 4k because of demand.
Wanted to get a CZ805 before the ball dropped, but only one I could find the guy wanted $500 above MSRP. Fuck that.
>>33252144
>You can buy them all day for $2,800-$2,900.
Where?
>>33252208
The last I've heard was that FNH is going to be making that option available. They haven't given a date, yet and the only thing we can say for sure is that it'll be here before the MDR.
Gunbroker is usually overpriced, yes.
>>33252235
I know G&R Tactical has them for $2,900. The FDE one is almost always more expensive and harder to find, though.
>>33252258
Well I'll be, in stock and everything.
>>33252240
>be making that option available
Oh shit, I had no idea. I will gladly wait and pay extra for it. TPR was so nice, a very noticeable improvement.
>>33252289
I lied, they're not in stock. Their website is a piece of shit. I'm a filthy liar.
>>33252298
I wouldn't hold your breath. I haven't heard a peep from FNH about that since 2015.
>>33252405
Anon pls, you have brought my hopes high only to dash them moments later
;-;
