>You wake up
>The Lord stands above you
>Tells you you as a reward for your consistent posting on /k/ you can have any LMG from any side of WW2
What would you pick?
I'd go with the MG42
1200/1500 RPM of 7.92 mauser
Easily changeable barrels if it overheats.
Only drawback is that you chew through a ton of ammo.
What would you pick?
>>33249410
at least make interesting anon. So few to pick from and only kraut stuff is gut
M60 for me from all times.
>>33249410
I'd go with the Bren
no, I'm not Lindybeige
>>33249435
>WW2
>M60
Can you even read?
>>33249442
Spandau is superior
>>33249442
hooty tooty jerry boom stick all the way
A DP28
>>33249443
Can you?
Like I said, boring fucking thread because kraut gats are GOAT. At least make it interesting and let us choose from all the LMGs up until now.
>>33249451
>>33249461
it's totally not me
>>33249493
>t. Ian's retarded cousin Lindy
:^)
>>33249410
I'd go with the Bren, or a ZB26, good all around gun, and has quick-change barrels, no belts to deal with, just magazines. I'm thinking of this from a recreational standpoint by the way, I'm not expecting combat.
If need be, I can convert it to 7.62x39mm or .308 down the line, the Chinese and the Brits proved both possible, respectively.
I'm not sure I'd call the MG42 an LMG though, it's more of a GMPG, like an M60 or PKM
>>33249435
>and only kraut stuff is gut
Faggot.
>>33249541
That's perhaps the best nickname I've ever seen given to that man.
Maybe change it to "The poor man's Ian McCollum"
I'd just get a 1919A6 since the options are so limited.
anybody know if we ever reverse engineered an MG42 in 30-06? I'm curious as to how that would do.
>>33249674
hopefully better than 30-06 chauchat
>>33249674
We never did, but the MG3 is in 7.62x51mm so that's effectively the same thing.
>>33249711
still, would be interesting to see an MG42 in 30-06.
maybe if I make enough money one day I can make that happen. surprised we didn't try it.
>tfw you will never fire 30-06 blacktip at 1300rpm at advancing koreans
>>33249410
jew scissor
RPD
Never saw any use in WWII and wasn't finally delivered until the early 50s but it was ready for mass production at the very tail end of the war so it very well could have seen use should the Soviets have decided to start pumping them out earlier than they did.
>>33249410
The Browning Automatic Rifle.
Im not a fedora tipper
>>33249410
I'd get a russian maxim
>>33249761
>The Browning Automatic Rifle.
>Im [sic] not a fedora tipper
Pick one.
>>33249770
>LMG
>>33249410
Madsen LMG
>lightweight for its time
>Has 25, 30, and 40 round magazines available
>Wide variety of barrel lengths, configurations (Belt fed included) and cartridges available
>Top fed, on the left side, allowing iron sights to be in the center
>selective fire in semi or full
>Magazine doesn't require feed lips and can add ease of compatibility with loading other cartridges, allowing an ease of caliber conversions
>>33249770
Excellent toy, but in no way an LMG
>>33249968
And neither is the mg42.
>gpmg
>>33250082
I never said it was either.
Lewis it just looks fun to use.
>>33250082
No, but it can and has been used that way by a lot of nations
>>33251172
(and I realize that this is an MG3, but my point is that I'd like to see someone running around with a Maxim)
