>>33250606
Sometimes the seller might want to see your ID to check age. Sometimes they want to make a copy, thats not necessary but thats between you two. Be crystal clear about terms and money, meet in a public place during the day, bring a friend if possible
>>
>>33250606
If you're worried about it, I usually ask to show drivers licenses before hand to make sure we're residents of the same state. Also bring a bill of sale for both parties to have a copy of.

If you're really worried about it you could do an FFL transfer through a local gun store but meh.

I turned 18 last year, bought an SKS as my first rifle for around $470 after shipping and hand select, then dropped another $30 for supplies to clean the cosmoline off
$500 total so far, for a cheap shooter, and that's before shooting at 30 cents per round
Then I bought a CZ-75 pistol this year, used, for $540 (AZ best state) 3 months after getting the SKS
Yesterday I ordered an M39 meme nugget with a cracked stock, for around $370 after shipping and hand select. That rifle would have been closer to $500 for a good condition stock. So, In total I've spent around $1410 on building a small arsenal, and really only the pistol is worth what I paid
Use the $500 and get one gun, then save up for more. You'll be horribly disappointed with the stuff in the price range you're asking
>>

are u 4reel?
>>
>>33251317
Finn mosins can go for ~$500 in decent shape. I have access to a woodworking shop if a repair is needed, and worse case scenario I can simply buy a new stock
I was a little kid when Mosins were cheap, but once every fudd living on a pension bought 20 of them to hang on a wall, they're typically not worth what they're priced anymore. I've wanted a mosin for a long time, so I figured I should get one satisfactory piece to have in the collection instead of buying pawn shop 91/30s for $250 with bores that look like the ass of a fat girl
>>
>>33251054

Bingo.

>>33251169

I don't have a problem showing ID to prove state of residency (since private transactions can't cross state lines due to GCA 68) but you're not getting paperwork from me.

But as >>33251054 said, if you want to meet me at an FFL and pay the transfer fee, I'll happily fill out a 4473 for the gun. But I'm not giving you any kind of fucking paperwork.
>>
>>33251384
Mosins were only worth the money when they were sub $150. Now your better off paying a bit more for a mauser. Theyre much better guns for a bit more money

you're not going to three gun on $500 dollars. You'll spend that much at least on your pistol alone. You need to get an AR-15 for three gun matches you fucking moron, and a glock with a match trigger is popular in three gun matches for a reason.

3 gun traditionally requires a 9mm handgun, 30 round 5.56(minimum) rifle, and a 12g. What you decide to set up within those parameters is up to you.

>FUCK. A. BILL. OF. SALE. AND. FUCK. PEOPLE. WHO. WANT. TO. PLAY. PRETEND. DEALER.
Uhh... no. Sorry, but if I sell a rifle to a quiet-seeming young white dude then turn on my TV a few days later and find out that he went on a shooting rampage at his college (this is not theoretical - it has actually happened, repeatedly), I want some evidence to show the cops which proves that I legally sold him the firearm and that, if a background check was required, it was done all nice and properly. I've narrowly managed to avoid getting sued in the past because some idiot who I sold a car to got it impounded a few days later, and the towing company came after me for the fees. If I hadn't kept the paperwork, I would have been on the hook for a couple thousand dollars worth of towing and storage costs. And that's just from some fool getting his car towed. I'm sure as hell not taking a chance like that when it comes to selling someone a firearm.

It's a Finn M39 for crying out loud, $370 out the door is a great deal for today's market on those Mosins
If you're comparing the price to the average 91/30 10-20 years ago, you'd be absolutely correct, but with diminishing supply and non-diminishing demand, the price gets inflated, and the average M39 is going for $500 before other fees
The stock is an easy part to fix or replace, and if the crack isn't in a critical spot it can even be ignored

No I mean people bid the rifles up to that. Whenever I see an sks in original configuration on the rack at my LGS or Cabelas I have to try really hard to let it go because I know some bubba is just going to do his thing to it and cuck it forever.
I just want to buy it, clean the cosmo, and refurb the stock

sort of like how i can't take my gf to the pet store or the animal shelter
>>
>>33257457

Yeah but we're talking about a very nice rifle.

I wouldn't pay that much for one. All I care about is having a good bore and action. But still, if you really care about the history of the gun and also the rarity and appearance, then they can get very pricey.
>>
Can someone please explain to me why otherwise reasonable people turn in to the most shekel-grubbing giga-kikes when they go to sell guns? A couple years back I was looking to buy a Mosin, the quintessential poorfag gun, but I couldn't find a single one in my area for a penny less than $300. I had several, SEVERAL, conversation with sellers that went something like this:

>It sure sucks that Mosins are so expensive now. I'm glad I bought six of them back when they were $60 a piece.
Are you looking to sell one? I'll give $150 for it.
>Oh no, I couldn't let it go for that. The best I could do is $300.
You know I could get a brand new rifle, one made in this century, one that wasn't dragged across Europe by an illiterate conscript with fetal alcohol syndrome, for that price?
>Well that's my price, take it or leave it
No thanks

Does anyone know where can I buy cheap milsurp guns? Or was I just born too late for that?
