They exploded left and right with the gen2 glock 22 because of an almost entirely unsupported case web that would cause a case rupture with factory ammo and with very hot boutique factory ammo or improper handloads it would shatter.

No generation of Glock in any caliber has a truly fully supported case web, including the gen4, which when coupled with their super sloppy chambers and ubiquitous nature they will suffer a lot of catastrophic failures.

This coupled with the fact that there are probably more Glocks in circulation between civilians and police than any other single model of handgun and they get a bad reputation. Part of it is deserved, with the gen2's being incredibly unsafe even with factory standard pressure ammo and having never been recalled, but mostly not.

I have an under the nightstand holster that has a sort of stretchy elastic band holding the gun up.

It's quite tight (even after years of holding up pic related and a full size USP + ammo. As a result, I am always very careful about making sure the material has cleared the trigger before re-holstering.

It's fast to draw, of course, which is all that matters.

I shoot .40sw out of my 10mm glock 29 a lot.

I'd imagine it's slightly safer than shooting 10mm or shooting .40sw out of a 22/23/27 because the 10mm is so much beefier.

Yeah it is 100% reliable. Even with +2 mag base plates on glock 20 mags.

Also works with the stock barrel as well as my 10mm lone wolf extended (1") ported barrel.

Shoots soft like a 9mm because of the girthy slide of the G29.

But yeah, ejection is weak so you might have to dodge the brass a few times, kek. Fun (and cheap) at the range though.

Yeah. The extractor holds it very tightly against the breech face.

Probably not great for the extractor, but it's a glock and parts are super cheap. I've also shot like 1000 rounds of .40 out of it so far and it's still doing it's thing with both calibers.

One thing I always do is clean/inspect the chamber carefully before going from .40 back to 10mm. Just to check for any buildup of carbon/copper at the front of the chamber. It always looks the same as when I shoot 10mm out of it though.

I wouldn't recommend doing this with other guns, but shooting .40 out of a 10mm glock is a relatively well known and regular practice.
