What kind of bolt action rifle should I get, besides a nugget?
I'd like it to be fairly inexpensive to shoot, and the rifle itself can't quite break the bank.
Am I just better off getting a nugget?
Also, Bolt Action thread.

Savage 110, Tikka T3.

savage axis
no milsurp is cheap to shoot anymore but i guess the cheapest that isnt a nugget yet still worth owning would be an enfield. can be found for ~$400 and ammo 70 cpr for PPU, shitty wolf is even cheaper
This one OP.
It's fun and cheap.

>surplus ammo has been unobtainable for months
>finding one in very good to excellent condition will cost you a fortune
>ones in fair to good condition are pushing $500 these days
"cheap"
Savage Axis II with the bundled Weaver Kaspa 4x9. 400 out the door, adjustable factory trigger.

8mm Mauser is cheaper than an Enfield. Get a m48 for $200-300 and ammo can be had for the same price or cheaper than .303

Don't buy milsurp if you aren't a collector. You won't get what you want out of it.
>>33240632
Guess what faggot, I bought an 8mm Mauser and I got what I wanted, a cheap bolt action rifle.

This tbfh fampai
Savage Axis is the best budget bolt-gun rn, especially of you are just starting to shoot bolt guns. Very comfortable and smooth rifle, and under $400. You also won't have to worry about murdering a milsurp with scope taps
7.62x54R is chearper than a savage axis
The cheapest shit you can find in .223. Ruger American, Savage Axis, etc. You won't find cheaper ammo that isn't pistol and/or surplus.
>>33240644
Ok...? And when it's not cheap to shoot anymore?
>>33241321
Are there actually people that don't have thousands upon thousands of rounds of surplus 8mm Mauser sitting around?
>>33240161
>Can't afford rifle
>Can afford 308
Rethink your priorities. I'd probably say get a 308 for all-around usage (target shooting, hunting, etc). If you're just shooting steel or paper, it's no difference under about ~600 yards. The ammo is also $0.30 for 5.56 versus $0.50 for the cheapest .308.

I don't. I don't shoot surplus ammo. It's easier to just reload. I'm trying to get rid of my surplus x54r ammo.
>>33241414
>It's easier to just reload.
I disagree. It's easier just to exchange money for shootable ammo.
