I know this feel. every time I do a dry fire on my enfield or mauser I work the bolt to make sure. even if I had dry fired it just before or had done a full clean.

When I moved into a new house, I bought a basic AR for like $500 off of someone, and got it shipped to my state. I didn't really have a place to shoot, so I tried to make a range in my basement. The problem is, my basement is on the ground floor. I used kitty litter as a backstop, and shot a full mag at my target. Later that day I found out the bullets had gone through my wall, and into my truck which was parked in the driveway. (I live on a rural lot, so it wasn't a big problem)

This is probabaly the stupidest shit I've done with a gun.

I almost killed myself new years but I accidentally loaded the round in my Jericho backwards and didn't notice it didn't fully go into battery so it didn't go off and people were able to wrestle the gun away from me.

I rubbed my penis in and out of a garand chamber. If I had poked the follower, I would've had a garand penis.

Shot a Beretta Bobcat .22 once outside in a creek ravine without ear pro. Figured a .22 wouldn't be all that loud. Wrong.

I also put a Tapco stock on an SKS once.

I shot two or three boxes of .31 S&W Long through my Nagant revolver

it didn't really damage the dun, but it did build up a shitload of lead in the chambers
for a while, I could barely shoot the thing because the cases wouldn't extract, always had to mallet them out

took ages with a brass brush a lots of solvent to get the chambers clean and there are still marks in the chambers

on the plus side, it is safe, just a bitch and three quarters to clean

the reason it was really dumb is because I had easy access to proper ammo for less (Cabela's had it for $24 a box and the .32 S&W L was $30 at an LGS)

I do this whenever I feel depressed. I just pull my gun out, take out the magazine, check the chamber, and try to imitate suicide. There's something about it that just makes me realize how trivial my issues are, and that no problem in life is big enough to warrant such an extreme response. I still have never been able to pull the trigger.
