You should respect all firearms restrictions and regulations as they were put forward by a democratic vote with the community's best interests at heart.
If, however, you choose to ignore my genuine and heartfelt advice and violate 922(r) don't listen to the people who talk about the 5 year statute of limitations because removing and inserting a different magazine is technically a different assembly in the eyes of the law.

No, it's impossible to prove what parts where made in the US and which parts weren't (except parts that are stamped). Also no one has ever been charged with 922r violation that I know of

Except the magazine is part of an assembled firearm per 922(r) so you did manufacturer it in the eyes of the law if you put a magazine in.

I've purchased several guns from dealers over the years that I doubt were 922R compliant. Nobody gives a shit, and it only applies to the individual who did the "manufacturing" / "modification".

Which, well, can be hard to prove.

Next time you go to a gun show, how many tapco'd sks's do you see? 922r violations if they have pistol grips, etc.

every part I own is part of a theoretical legal configuration anyway

I either use US mags and foreign furniture
or swap the pistol grip or handguard or stock to use my foreign made mags

but i also knew of a mexican who used to buy cheap bananas from Aldi and slap organic stickers on them. Sell them at the farmer's market for 10x markup.
