I hate these threads so much
>>
They're good, but economy of scale is kind of small so more expensive than .357 caliber
>>
>>33227432
.357 and .38 exist.
>>
>>33227432
>>33227710
This. There are lots of odd calibres that make perfect sense in one niche or another in abstract, but rarely in practice.

This is a great set in abstract, but for most things the .357 set is as good or better, and it's SO much easier and less expensive to get that ammo.

Personally I like the .44 set, but it suffers almost the same fate. There are very few things you can do with the .44 that you can't do just as well with the .357 and you have to pay extra at every point. But not as bad as with a .32.

Sorry.
>>
>>33227797
357 is great for the range and innawoods, but for defence 32 caliber is better than anything else.
>>
>>33227846
>357 is great for the range and innawoods, but for defence 32 caliber is better than anything else.

And just how do you figure that? What specifically is it about what you are defining as 'defence' versus other usages where a .32 S&W long is so much better than a .38 S&W long?

I knew an old-timer that just loved his .32 and was never quite happy with a .38 - but put him in a pinch and the .38 closer he'd still grab it and do the job, every time. Why not?

All good points. Really, if you want to get into revolver cartridges you are best reloading. Then it doesn't matter if you like 32, 38, 44, or 45, or some bonkers bullet size in between - you can shoot it as cheap as you want.

I think /k/ misses that a lot with uncommon calibers and rants about "muh ammo cost" without realizing that anyone with half a brain that wants to shoot a 6.5 Swiss or some other hard to find caliber is gonna get setup to reload it.
>>
>>33227432
Same issue as 10mm, I love the caliber but it isn't popular costs more and there are less things on the market for it
>>
>>33227432
My kids like to shoot the Long and S&W. I'm happy to have them with me; ammo cost is less important.

I'm always able to find H&R Mag and Long at my LGS. S&W is hit or miss. Nobody carries Fed Mag.
>>
>>33227947
Well maybe I'm just being lazy but I had to let go of the bench and I get along fine without it. Even when you are reloading, the cost is still there, bullets are more expensive (sure you can cast your own wadcutters but who wants to shoot nothing but wadcutters?) brass is more expensive (and no it doesn't last forever you resize it a few times then it needs to be melted) and so on.

I mean if it makes you happy knock yourself out, I might do it again too if I had more time, but I wouldn't think I was being practical.

.327 Fed is practically non-existent.
And .38 is plentiful and does pretty much the same things.
>>
>>33227448
Most do
>>
Been wanting one for a long time. Got a .357 SP101 and kicked myself for not getting the exact same one in .327.
>>
>>33227710
pretty much this
>>
>>33227432
It's a good round for self defence, but .357 is more multi-purpose.
>>
>>33227906
>how do you figure that
Because it can do the same thing a .35 or .45 bullet can, but in a more compact and controllable package. 32 H&R and 327 can both hit 0.6 inches of expansion and over 12 inches of penetration, while giving you an extra round of capacity. In magazine fed pistols the difference in capacity is even greater, though unfortunately there aren't any popular rimless 32 magnums.
>>
>>33227947
>with half a brain that wants to shoot a 6.5 Swiss
unless that 6.5 is a ag42B and murdalizes all your brass
>>
>>33227432
>not chambered in any current-production snubnose revolver
>the 2 snubbies they were ever chambered in (S&W something-Performance Center and Charter Arms Bulldog) were still 5 shots despite the ENTIRE FUCKING PURPOSE THE .327FED WAS DEVELOPED WAS TO GET 6 SHOTS IN A 5-SHOT .38 FRAME

That being said, the Single Seven is awesome and Henry's making a levergun in it this year.

It can also shoot .32acp without moon clips.

>>33227752
.327 offers more ME from a 2" barrel than .357mag while having less flash and recoil than .38+P.

Good luck finding .30-40 Krag ammo.

Good luck finding .30-40 Krag brass to reload.

LCR
>5 shots
The only revolvers from S&W or Charter in the caliber that I remember were 6 shots. They weren't terribly popular so they were discontinued, though the Charter is a weak design and I can't help but think that the reason they discontinued it was due to fatigue.

Also, Taurus chambered it at one point but loltaurus

Sexy wheelgun and trips.

It's okay Anon, you're not the only one that does.
>>
>>33227432
Can't get a .327 fed mag lever gun with a loading gate for less than a grand.

(Fuck off Henry, I don't want your poverty tube reloading system).
>>
>>33228713
The .327 fed LCR is a 6 shooter.
>>
>>33228713
Every offering for .327 has been at least 6 shots and it literally debuted in the SP101. It's now still in the SP101 in various forms as well as the LCR.

Bowen did a sweet ass bearcat conversion that may have been a 5 shot
