I work at Remington Arms in Alabama and ordered this from their wip list. Did i do good for my first gun purchase, Or did i screw up by getting an aac.
>>33226194
kind of. your bigger problem is 1) Remington 2) Freedom Group. Freedom Group/Cerberus has a tendency to make everything they touch into instant shit. Guess who owns Remington and AAC? While I'd like to think that fucking up an AR is hard to do they did it for Bushmaster and Remington firearms and very well could have done it to that gun too.
Great.....I can't complain to much, i get everything they make for 50% off so i got this gun at only $630.
>>33226374
You didn't do bad.
>>33226374
the URX alone is worth like 180$
thats a sweet deal getting a $1200 rifle for $600
>>33226439
Yes, It's stuff they use for the R&D process so it's slightly used. 100 rounds maybe, But other than that it's practically new.
OP here, I bought this from a friend at work, It's actually my first gun but i don't know if you can count a .22 a first gun.
Any advice for getting hired there? I'm wanting to move back to Alabama eventually and seems like Remington would probably be a pretty cool place to work at.
Also, do you know who is in charge of the Experticity program now?
>>33226194
>their wip list
Their what list? Did you at least get a discount?
>>33226553
They go through aidt, Just apply online. May take a while to get an anser as it took me fucking 9 months to get a job there. And i know nobody that is in charge of the Experticity program, Sorry.
>>33226563
Yes, 50% off. Work In Progress. In other words i can get stuff nobody else can get yet.
>>33226194
>Remington Arms in Alabama
That new plant in Huntsville? How is that?
I'm from Decatur and have been curious
>>33226593
It's pretty cool, you get moved around a lot though, I was in msr assembly but got bumped to the paint booth running bolt caps for 597
>>33226564
Thanks, and nice gun by the way.
I paid $599 + tax for a Colt M4 base model that didn't have a rear sight, forward assist, dust cover, or accessory rail.
You did good.
Is the barrel chrome lined? What sights or optics do you plan on putting on it?
>>33226286
>tfw bought an AAC Tirant because reviews and specs are generally very good
>didn't realize it was freedom group until after form 4 submitted
It should be approved any day now, supposedly
>>33226194
looks good. its an AR15, they are all the fucking same
>>33226786
>being this ignorant mixture of stupid and judgmental
>>33226286
Everyone says they fucked up bushmaster but i dont get how. I stupidly fucked up and bought an xm-15 carbine back in 2015 because Academy had a $150 mail in rebate. If i had know it was remshit i wouldve stayed away, but since then ive probably put about 2000-3000 rounds of cheap steel cased and brass through it with maybe one or two FTEs. Nothing has broken or worn out. The stock was less than cozy, but i since replaced it.
I compared it to a bushmaster that my dad has from like 2004 that he left completely unmolested and the only thing i noted was smoother machining on his.
So please tell me why bushmaster under remington is so shitty.
>>33226792
shit is made by like the same half dozen manufacturers and just rebranded and relogoed
>>33226539
It's a gun, it counts
>>33226374
Could have been worse.
If anything, you could replace the upper if have problems. It's incredibly hard to fuck up a lower receiver and not even Remington should be able to do that.
>>33226539
Wouldn't have been my #1 choice but it's a gun, you load cartridges into it, and when you pull the trigger it goes bang.
>>33226374
Considering the URX rail is about a third of that, id say you did okay. I think if its reliable with any ammo, you got yourself a very nice AR thats already got a free floated hand guard. Not to mention having KAC stuff on your gun is pretty cool
>>33226664
I think it's chrome lined, they aren't to descriptive in the wip list. I know it's got a top of the line trigger and bolt.
>>33226664
Oh and was planning to put everything from my arx on it, scope reddot combo and laser.
>>33228795
Sweet, sounds like you'll have it like you want it soon.
Im left handed so I don't even like shooting my AR that much. Hopefully I can get a left handed one on the future and won't be getting as much gas in my face.
>>33229073
Yeah, I think i'm set.
>>33229073
Only thing about this rail system is that i don't think i can get the forward grip where i want to since there isnt any rail there.
>>33228779
>not knowing how to tell whether a barrel is chrome lined or not.
Jesus, I hope you're not working there building guns.
Then again, that would explain the quality of Remington guns.
>>33229197
I don't have the gun yet, So yeah. I don't know if it is or not.
>>33229197
Plus we don't make that gun at our facility.
>>33229213
Didn't you get to inspect the rifle before committing to buy it? are these rifled abused or just test fired and shit?
>>33229118
Can't see the rail in the picture that well, but it may be like a keymod system where you put the rail pieces where you want on the barrel shroud. Then the rest of the barrel shroud is smooth.
>>33229250
The rifle was listed as "good condition" meaning they shot between 10-100 rounds threw it. I haven't seen the rifle yet so no i didn't inspect it
>>33226194
>>33226593
hey fellow huntsville bros, I'm actually being considered right now for a position at Remington myself right now.
>>33229368
Nice, I think you'll enjoy it.
>>33229362
Cool. I was just giving you shit earlier because that's a really good deal.
Hope you enjoy your first AR
>>33226194
>>33229306
It's the KAC URX 3.1 rail.
VFG are stupid anyways
>>33229388
Thanks man. 50% off everything they make plus accessories.
>>33229459
ammo too?
>>33226539
gun > no gun
That even applies to Hi Point and Jimenez.
>>33229508
No unfortunately.
