Sick of stock Glock sights. Thinking about getting a fiber optic front and blacked out rear. Anyone a fan of this set up? If not, what do you prefer? Any brands to recommend/ steer clear of?
>>
I have fiber front and black rear on like 2-5... They are great for playing around, kind of hard to pick up inside.

Do it, I've been doing more and more on demand time based drills and this is my next priority for every gun I shoot.

I'm about ready to block out my rears as a temporary stop-gap.

3 bar sights are best sights.
>>

now that's better. move along
>>

I like those. Do they make them for most common models?
>>
>>33222754
Those are the sights that come on Hi power MK3s, I prefer them to any other dot sights ive used, i would like to get the front sight replaced with a red fiber optic though.

fiber optic tritium
>>
>>33222482
I went with a tritium front, then a blacked out rear, and personally I find it much easier to pick up. The tritium helps indoors, so I would recommend that over a fiber optic.
>>
>>33222712
No my man, not to be a dick but if you are shooting for speed & hits on demand that is not a desired configuration, and if you're shooting for bullseye, that is also not a desired configuration.

>>
>>33223142
I like em, Ive never had a problem picking them out at speed (in any kind of lit conditions) or any accuracy issues. Since they came stock with the gun, i feel like im coming out ahead since most stock sights are shit, and i already said id like a fiber optic front sight, but thats mostly just me gearfagging.
>>
>>33223149
good plan, that way you can miss and avoid a lawsuit.
>>
>>33223238
I'm glad that you are happy with them, can you relay to me the kind of on demand shooting level you are at?

I'm not trying to bully senpai, it's just I often come across this as a sign of someone who does not yet poses the raw ability to track the dot and shoot at full speed accurately.

So it's cool that you like them - wouldn't tell you how to run your gun, but if we are talking about efficient and practical site design and use, I'm going to need some kind of qualifier from you to give any weight to your opinion. Especially because you are defacto now recommending this sight style design - despite your benign intentions.

Trijicon Bright and Tough or GTFO

I actually really like the Wilson Combat/Vickers Glock sights too, but those won't fit on my MOS.

so, you're probably wondering how i found myself in this tough situation, arncha :P? well, it all started one day when anon asked me to qualify my level of proficiency, in order for him to take my recommendation of pistol sights more seriously
>>
>>33223308
I shoot casually and have practiced draws and rapid shooting from various carry positions and body positions that I would encounter in a self defense scenario.

If your calling me out for not being super operator and not spending the cost of another similar handgun on trijicon fiber optic glows sights when i like my 3 bar sights just fine, I am guilty of being content with my skill and my setup. More expensive dosent mean better, and fancy sights wont make you shoot any better. If OP or you dont like that, no skin off my nose, its not my wallet.

It might be fun but when you troll legit gun threads you actually infect legit noobs and interested parties with dangerous info.

Moving the rear sight forward allows for much faster aiming, but it's less precise. A fantastic trade off for a combat pistol.

After thinking about it all day I busted out the wal-mart Rust-Oleum spray paint and just did it, not even sure if it's worth investing in new sights now... The FNS has a beefy, huge front sight post and dot already so this seems just as effective.

My phone pic is exaggerating the perspective a fuck ton, that front dot is xbox huge

When you build s new pistol and need to adjust your front sight .0125 inches but they only sell .0100 or .0150 inches.

Larry's WCs are pretty good bang for buck. I got them when they first came out but you can get a full set for like $70 now.

I'm the FNS autist and I've been doing par time draws on the TV tonight and so far it seems like it cuts down the visual clutter significantly.

Will run like 3 days of cold FASTs and see if there's the kind of gains I expect.
>>
>>33236779
what are cold fasts?
please explain your training techniques
>>
>>33237024
Here is the test. It's run "cold" as in no warm up or other shooting done before hand, it's meant to put you in the condition you would be in if you had to draw and shoot another human on demand in real life with no preparation. (impossible to truly mimic but god damn if this doesn't exaggerate and reveal the issues in such a scenario)

https://pistol-training.com/fastest

It's very, very hard to do with honest accountability, sometimes I wish the people who scoff at it would try to run it with an audience and demonstrate how they really perform.

Trijicon HD XR. I like them so far. You do get to see more of the target in front of the front blade, works a bit faster for me.

For training - FAST is not the training side, just the test side, for training there are like a million amazing on demand drills that use an IDPA or USPSA target, two most important and straightforward? Bill drill and Dot Torture
